Wang Leehom reveals wedding video for the first time

Wang Leehom revealed his wedding video for the first time, over three years after he tied the knot with his sweetheart Lee Jing Lei. They are belatedly revealed to have held a private ceremony in Europe, and fans were pleasantly surprised that he decided to share footage with them. Previously, some doubted if he had held a wedding ceremony as there were no photos or videos uploaded on their big day.

In the video, a Leehom and Jing Lei were seen proceeding with the ceremony, which was attended by a number of friends and family members. His best man was seen shedding tears, with many of the guests whipping out their phones and cameras to record the once-in-a-lifetime moment.

The pair registered their marriage in New York  on November 27, 2013 and were said to have tied the knot on the day of Leehom’s parents’ wedding anniversary. At the time, he shared the good news with a simple message, “I’m lucky to have found a girl who I can hold hands with and spend my future with.”

Leehom also revealed his thoughts when he first decided to go public about his marriage. “I wanted to send out (the message) but I didn’t dare to do it; in the end, (Jing Lei and I) counted down together (before we clicked the send button together),” he revealed.

Jing Lei added, “I was really nervous on that day, because I knew that my life would change from the moment we posted the message.”

Leehom and Jing Lei have two daughters, Wang Jiana, who is four months old, and Wang Jiali, who turns three this year.

Prince's music licensed to Universal

Prince's estate has chosen Universal Music Group [UMG] to manage the late music icon's recordings.

The record label giants announced on Thursday (09.02.17) that they signed an agreement between the late 'Purple Rain' hitmaker's estate and NPG Records Inc. - which stands for New Power Generation and was founded by Prince to release his music after Paisley Park Records was shut down by Warner Bros. Records in 1993 - which will grant UMG exclusive licensing rights to the Grammy-winning star's 25 NPG Records, his early recordings and his vault of unreleased tracks.

This means UMG has become the home of Prince's music publishing, merchandise and much of his recordings, and with the permission of his heirs they will be able produce new products and experiences from the 'Kiss' singer's works.

In 2018, UMG will also gain US rights to certain prize Prince albums, which were released from 1979 to 1995.

In a statement - released to BANG Showbiz - Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of UMG, said: "Prince was one of the greatest musical talents of all time - an incomparable genius as a performer, recording artist and songwriter. It's an absolute honor to once again be selected by Prince's estate to be the home for publishing, merchandise and now for so much of his incredible body of recordings. UMG is committed to honouring Prince's legacy and vision by creating the highest quality products and experiences."

Michele Anthony, Executive Vice President of UMG, added: "Prince is a music icon and his impact on culture will continue to reverberate across the world for generations to come. Having worked with Prince on-and-off for 20 years, I was fortunate to experience his incomparable passion, creativity and pursuit of perfection. It's an honor professionally and personally to be entrusted with these cherished recordings, including his storied 'vault' of unreleased music, and to partner with his estate and heirs to preserve and expand Prince's legacy."

Prince's estate is managed by industry veterans L. Londell McMillan and Charles Koppelman - who were appointed by bank Bremer Trust.

McMillan commented: "I am thrilled the NPG catalog and Prince's highly sought after unreleased recordings will reside with UMG, where we have found a partner who is passionate about presenting Prince's music with a holistic vision that celebrates his iconic status across recorded music, publishing and merchandise and will continue to deliver the highest quality experiences that fans have come to expect. I'm looking forward to seeing Lucian and Michele achieve great things for Prince's fans, his estate and heirs."

During a four-decade spanning career, Prince - who died last April at the age of 57 from a fentanyl overdose at his Paisley Park estate - sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, making him one of the most successful artists of all time. In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Selina Jen recalls ‘ghostly encounter’ at work

Taiwanese singer Selina Jen returned to work after going for a short beach vacation during the Chinese New Year holidays and she wrote a post on Facebook this Monday (Feb 6) to share her excitement to commence the filming of her informative variety show, Bie Rang Shen Ti Bu Kai Xin (loosely translated as Don’t Upset Your Body). The singer also shared a spooky anecdote that happened in the makeup room before filming started.

Selina was using her phone while getting her makeup done by the makeup artist, but she unknowingly misplaced it right after she went to change her outfit. After searching for the phone for some time, the singer told her makeup artist to call her phone so she could locate it by listening to the ringtone, but to no avail.

The singer and her crew suspected that the phone was not in the room since they did not hear it ringing, and decided to check the surveillance camera to find out who took the phone. Little did they expect, she found the phone under her bag, just as she was about to carry it downstairs to the surveillance room. They even called the phone again to test it, and it rang loudly.

“Why is it here? How did we miss that?!” the singer said as she was confused by the situation.

Spooked by the incident, the 35 year-old singer called it a “paranormal activity” and believed that she had a ghostly encounter. She scurried downstairs to pray at an altar with her crew right after.

Selina’s interesting memory from work tickled fans, as they mostly believed that the singer was simply too careless. Fans instead noticed the ring that she was wearing in her photos, and were envious of her, as the ring was a gift from fellow S.H.E member Hebe Tien.

Hong Kong Film Awards nominations announced

The 36th Hong Kong Film Awards nominations were announced today by Aaron Kwok and Elaine Jin, the previous winners of Best Actor and Actress respectively.

"Soul Mate" was nominated for 12 awards, while the nominees for Best Actor were Shawn Yue of "Mad World", Francis Ng of "Shed Skin Papa", Tony (Ka Fai) Leung of "Cold War II", and Richie Jen and Gordon Lam of "Trivisa". Although he was not nominated, Aaron congratulated his co-star Tony and the other nominees.

Nominated once again for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Mad World", Elaine admitted that she looked forward to her "achievement report". The other nominees for Best Supporting Actress were Charmaine Fong of "Mad World", Zhang Yuqi of "The Mermaid", Fish Liew of "Sisterhood" and Janice Man of "Cold War II".

Eric Tsang was nominated for Best Supporting Actor Award, while his son Derek Tsang was nominated for Best Director.

Kim Tae Hee shares reason behind budget wedding

Korean actress Kim Tae Hee married Korean heartthrob Rain last month (Jan 19), with little details made known about the low-profile couple’s proposal and wedding ceremony.

Being dubbed the richest couple in the industry, with their combined real estate value estimated at a whopping KRW50 billion (approximately worth S$60.6 million), they had a surprisingly simple and low-cost ceremony.

When asked to share the reason behind it, the 36 year-old actress simply explained that they chose not to hold a lavish wedding banquet because of the existing political crisis in Korea, and they did not wish news of their union to distract the public from national issues.

However, she assured the media that she is indeed “happily married” to her boyfriend of five years, and loves her life now. She also shared that the singer did not propose to her before the wedding day, but went down on one knee during their ceremony instead, which surprised many.

Rain even dedicated his recent song, ‘The Best Present’ to Tae Hee when he sang it to her on their wedding day.

“I guess that’s his way of proposing to me”, she said.

The couple is currently living in Rain’s residences while actively looking for a suitable new apartment.

Mariah Carey: YG was the 'perfect' collaborator

Mariah Carey says YG was the "perfect" collaborator for her new single 'I Don't'.

The 46-year-old singer teamed up with the 'Why You Always Hatin?' rapper for the single - which was teased on the final episode of her reality show 'Mariah's World' and officially released on February 3 - and has said the star was the perfect person to work with because he was so "focused in the studio".

She said: "[YG] was very focused in the studio. He wrote his rhyme and then out of nowhere, he came up with the 'I know you love me' part and I loved that section. I feel like he was a perfect collaboration because he really focuses on what he's doing."

And the 'Without You' hitmaker admits she always knew she wanted someone to join her on the track, but was only put in touch with YG, 26, after her agent Chris Hart recommended him "24 hours" before the song was finished.

Mariah added: "I knew we would want someone featured on it but it wasn't until Chris Hart, my agent, was like, 'Do you know YG? We rep him. Would you want to put him on a song?' And I was like, 'Of course.'

"So we got together, and it was literally 24 hours from the intro to the completion of the whole thing. I loved working with him in the studio as well.

"He actually got the idea to do that little singing part in the middle of recording and then we kind of moved it around afterwards.

"I loved starting the record off with him because it feels like more of a collaboration."
The 'We Belong Together' singer also recently dropped the video for 'I Don't' which sees her set fire to the dress she was supposed to marry ex-fiancé James Packer in before they cancelled their engagement.

Now, the beauty says she's "always wanted" to perform the stunt in a video.

She told Billboard magazine: "I've always wanted to burn a wedding dress in a video.

So we took this opportunity to do that because in the 'We Belong Together' video, I told [director] Brett Ratner in post, I wanted to burn the train of the wedding dress, which was actually the real wedding dress that I wore in one of my many endeavours into marriage. He wouldn't light the train up so I was like, 'You know what? I'm gonna do this myself.'"

Carly Rae Jepsen admits Donna Summer is her musical inspiration

Carly Rae Jepsen's new album is inspired by Donna Summer.

The 31-year-old singer is currently in Sweden working on her latest record and has offered fans an insight into what they can expect from the album, admitting that it's got a strong disco sound.

Asked if she's still inspired by a 70s vibe, having previously cited ABBA and the Bee Gees as influences, Carly said: "I would say more Donna Summer than the Bee Gees. That would be the disco inspiration that's leading the pack at the moment.

"That said, some of the songs that have surprised me have not been in the disco realm as much. I can't really put my finger on what it is, but that's exciting too.

There's so much music out there right now and so much quality stuff, so I'm trying to find out what I have to offer that's different."

And while Carly remains some way off finishing her new album, she is relishing the creative process.

The chart-topping star told Entertainment Weekly: "I'm just really enjoying being in the thick of it. I'd say there's a lot of work left to do, but I'm definitely finding some new sounds for me, which is always the goal: to challenge what you did last time, to break some rules, and to discover new places where you want to go musically.

"I categorise myself as a bit of an over-writer. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it definitely has become part of my process.

"I can't quite seem to just write eight or nine songs and call it a record. I think on this record alone I'm up to at least 42 songs. I'm like, 'Okay, narrowing it down!' but I'm still continuing [to write and record].

"I know that by the time I'm finished I'll have a whole little catalogue - the secret ones that nobody hears, and the ones that I feel are really special and put out there."

Emerging Malaysia artiste Lawrence Hiew's debut single 【Script of Happiness】was release on the first day of Chinese Lunar New Year.

The charming and humble 22 years old boy, Lawrence Hiew was caught by surprise when his artiste management Royal Entertainment produced his debut single along with an MV. The initial plan was three years before the execution but never to his expectation, he became the first artiste to release his debut single in this 2017.

The MV was broadcasted through YouTube and Facebook with a hit more than 5000 views within a day! His seniors, Elson Soh and Hayden Chen were the first to congratulate him for such an amazing feat.
