JJ LIN'S ATTACKER WANTS ANOTHER PUNCH

People may remember that last year JJ Lin made headlines after being punched by a man during one of his autograph sessions in Taiwan.

The man in question was later revealed to be underground rapper Chen Yanheng, who later said that he decided to sock JJ in the face because of the singer-songwriter's flirty behaviour.

"You love to flirt with girls and you love harassing them. I hope this will teach you a lesson," he wrote on his Facebook.

He also expressed frustration that the Singaporean singer was more celebrated in Taiwan than their local musicians, saying, "Why are you supporting foreign music? My songs are better than his!"

That was back in January 2015, and now Chen, who is in Australia, has another message for the singer on his Facebook after sharing an article about JJ's appearance at the QQ Music Festival, saying, "JJ, wait for me. I will return to Taiwan to pound you."

The post was met with both support from his fans and anger from JJ's followers. The rapper, however, continued to criticise the singer in later posts.

JJ has not made any response to Chen's threat for the time being.

I like the three of us working together.” As it had been Selena’s first performance after her divorce, Hebe revealed that Selena’s condition was very good and she was grateful for the concern. She said their company would be the best comfort to Selina. When asked if they would introduce some new guys to her, Hebe said that goals might be different in different stages of life and when the time is right, there is no need to look for it. Hebe would turn 33 on March 30, and her birthday wishes were that everybody around her would be healthy and happy and that Ella would have a baby this year.

He's JJ Lin and Kenji Wu's peer but you've never heard of him

Signed with Warner Music for 6 years, Finn Liu finally had his first album “First Finn” and appeared at the press conference to promote it. The MV of his new song “Already Unable to Leave You” (unofficial translation) had aroused attention for the scene of intercourse and suffocation that exceeded the criteria of censorship. Finn admitted that he was a straightforward person and had once fight with his girlfriend in public and crushed his mobile phone in a rage. He came to the company in the same year as JJ Lin, and he had a complicated feeling when Jess Lee and other colleagues released their new albums, and he once thought of giving up. However Ronghao Li made him realize that a singer did not have to appear in a show to make good music. He hoped to work with Ronghao if possible because they had the similar background. Another singer who was signed in the same year as him but now his “senior”, Kenji Wu, appeared today to support Finn. Kenji tried to appease him and teased, “Show me your sword if you resent it!”

Tom Cruise Lookalike? You Be The Judge

Singer Elva Hsiao is in love again after nursing her wound of breaking up with Singaporean businessman Elroy Cheo in the middle of last year.

Taiwan media reported last week that her new rumoured beau is a Tom Cruise look-alike named Michael. According to reports, Michael, joined Hsiao's fashion label Carry Me as the general manager and consultant in the beginning of this year.

They drew closer to one another after working together in the business.

Micheal, who is reportedly 40 years old and fluent in Mandarin, used to study in Taiwan in his youth. They were introduced to each other by Hsiao's friend, fashionista and socialite Janet Yang, who wanted to shake off Hsiao's blues after she parted ways with Cheo, reported Apple Daily.

Michael, who holds a master's degree from a business school in Los Angeles, is also Yang's ex-classmate.

Rumours of the singer's new romance began to spread after Hsiao's night out with Michael and a female friend. While the 36-year-old was seen chatting with her female friend, eyewitnesses noticed that he was transfixed on her the whole night.

When quizzed by the media about her new relationship, Hsiao reportedly said she has become more "cautious' after what happened to her.

"Nothing is certain for now," replied Hsiao, who had expressed her desire to get hitched even after her break-up with Cheo.

Ex-boyfriend Cheo has apparently given his blessings, "hoping that everything goes well for Elva, and I'm happy for them", according to Apple Daily.

Friends of the singer have kept mum about her new beau but noted that she is now focusing on her new album and expanding her Carry Me fashion business in China.

What?! Chris Evans heading for Singapore on April 21.

Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and director Joe Russo will also attend

After all the recent speculation that set the internet ablaze when Marvel Singapore tweeted a teaser of Marina Bay Sands reflecting off Captain America’s shield, TODAY can finally confirm that Captain America's Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and Captain America: Civil War director Joe Russo will be coming to Singapore come April 21.

As the Marvel Singapore caption promised, the stars have now indeed aligned with TeamCap representing here on our little red dot.

Not unlike the previous X-men South-east Asian premiere held here in 2014, there will be a special blue carpet (a dig at Iron Man/Tony Stark’s penchant for red carpets) to welcome the Hollywood stars to our shores at the Marina Bay Sands' skating rink from 6pm on April 21.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War will see the beloved heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe fracturing into opposing factions - one led by Captain America and another by Iron Man - and clashing over a very divisive issue that could determine their entire future as costumed vigilantes.

In recent interviews, director Joe Russo has also called the film a love story, among other things. “These are two guys (Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes) who grew up together, and so they have that same emotional connection to each other as brothers would, and even more so because Bucky was all Steve had growing up,” he told Empire magazine.

Captain America: Civil War opens in Singapore on April 28.

Time For Loneliness and Anxiety – A song debut “Now”

An upbeat and composed piece, arranged by our multi-talented musician from Iran, Hangi Tavakoli, that is catchy yet fun and interesting.  The song “Now” describes how a teenager feels lonely and does not know what she has done wrong to be ostracized by her friends in college and everyone.  It relates completely with the pressure how some teenagers feel about their life these days.

“The inspiration to compose a teen pop came during lunch, and I thought it might be good to give it a shot since it is main stream.  And interestingly, the melody came to my head just after lunch and I immediately started working on it.”, said Hangi.  Amazingly the entire song took about 5 hours to complete within the same day, from the composition of the song to lyrics writing, and even recording and arrangement.

In a bid to groom local talents and provide opportunities and platform for them to further grow their music, Flipside Productions and Marketing currently works with a few talented emerging artistes, to showcase different styles of music to captivate the listeners and create a new following.  Local talent, Angelica Muk wrote the lyrics and is also the vocalist for “Now”.

Hangi is a multi-talented musician from Iran; he is a producer, arranger, composer, song writer and sound engineer.  He has more than 12 years of music experience and has produced more than 400 tracks to-date.  He also has superb experience and skills in sound engineering and audio designing, having worked in more than 20 large size live music performances and concerts with audience size over 50,000 per concert.

The song is going to be released on 24 March 2016. “Now” is currently available on the following platforms :

It’s that time of the week again for fans to keep track of their voting efforts and see if they’ve made it count in the overall online and telepoll weekly combined results update (as of Monday, 2 pm) for the Top 10 Most Popular Male and Female Artiste list.

We’ll start off with the female artistes this week and we’ve got bad news for the Jollity Club (Joanne Peh’s official fanclub). It looks like fans have to vote doubly hard if they wish to see Joanne graduate with her 10th – and final – Top 10 trophy this year as the new mum is still out of the Top 10 list this week after failing to make the cut last week.

Joanne is joined by Hong Hui Fang and Felicia Chin, who – for the first time – is missing from the Top 10 combined updates since voting began.

In no order of ranking, the remaining nine spots on this week’s Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes update are filled by Belinda Lee, Carrie Wong, Jesseca Liu, Julie Tan, Kym Ng, Paige Chua, Rebecca Lim, Tong Bing Yu and Ya Hui.

Over to the men, bubbly host Pornsak and new dad Shaun Chen have made it back to the Top 10 list this week after one week of absence. They have taken over the positions originally filled by Love 97.2FM DJ Dennis Chew and Shane Pow who did not make the cut this week.

In no order of ranking, the remaining eight spots on this week’s Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes update are filled by Aloysius Pang, Elvin Ng, Jeffrey Xu, Romeo Tan, Xu Bin, Zhang Yao Dong, Zhang Zhen Huan and Zheng Geping.

Fans of those who did not make it in this week’s Top 10 list, do not be disheartened and keep voting because there’s still time to make a difference in the final outcome with the Star Awards ceremonies (Part 1 and Part 2) happening only in four and five weeks’ time.

Nicky Wu, Cecilia Liu set off for their honeymoon

Mrs Wu can’t wait to start a family

After their ‘wedding of the century’ was concluded on Sunday night, Nicky Wu and Cecilia Liu set off for a different hotel in Bali, officially starting their honeymoon.

Cecilia, 29, is also reported to be even more eager than Nicky, 45, to have children and start their own family, having initiated a visit to the gynaecologist for a checkup.

When those close to her encouraged the actress, whose career is currently booming, to continue working for two more years before starting a family, Cecilia declined to do so. The actress is said to have smilingly replied, “I can wait for two more years, but what about Mr Wu?”

The couple’s wedding suite was heavily guarded after all the celebrations ended, with both hotel and wedding staff constantly going in and out of the room as the couple prepared to leave. Within five minutes, the lovebirds emerged, walking to the hotel’s car.

A member of Nicky’s entourage jokingly said that “the two of them checked out to go to another hotel, leaving us behind.”

Netizens also posted pictures of the wedding after party, where Nicky knelt down to present a gift to Cecilia, who was smiling sweetly.

The actor’s previous marriage to Ma Yashu was brought up when his mother revealed that she felt “guilty” for not giving her former daughter-in-law an equally lavish wedding ceremony. “Yes, we did not hold a wedding banquet back then. We really did not treat her as well [when compared to the grand celebration for Nicky and Cecilia].”

Yashu, 38, had once revealed on a show that her wedding pictures with Nicky were shot by the road and paid for her wedding ring out of her own pocket.

However, Nicky’s mother refuted rumours that he did not leave Yashu with any assets after their divorce.

JJ Lin tears up relating heartbreak behind ‘Practice Love’

Singer’s track based on the passing of a close female friend

Taiwan-based Singaporean singer JJ Lin, 34, teared up while recounting the sad backstory that led to his song ‘Practice Love.’

While appearing on a recent episode of a Chinese music variety programme, the singer was reunited with a former high school friend, who revealed that JJ wasn’t that great a songwriter until one particular girl came into the picture.

The pair would play music together and compose lyrics and tunes, and JJ’s schoolmate added that the girl had confessed her feelings for the singer, but he didn’t accept her then.

JJ then spoke about the story behind ‘Practice Love,’ saying it was written for a close female friend who perished in an aviation accident. The girl had harboured feelings for JJ and would deliver breakfast to his home every morning, but he didn’t feel the same way about her.

He teared up relating how he later discovered a photo of him among her belongings and realised she had always kept him close to her heart.

YES 933 DJ Siau Jiahui is expecting a September baby

The radio deejay is expecting her first child after getting married in November last year

Guess who’s the latest celebrity on the Hill expecting a bun in the oven? YES 933 DJ Siau Jiahui shared the news through an unconventional approach during a radio show via Facebook LIVE video with fans.

Currently in her second trimester, the bubbly deejay shared that having a baby was always in the plans: “We wanted to have a baby ever since we got married,” she said in a phone interview with Toggle.

“We hoped for it to be a honeymoon baby since it’d be nice to say it was ‘made in Italy’, but it is ‘made in Singapore’” said the deejay, who tied the knot in November last year.

Jiahui first discovered that she was pregnant when she missed out on a menstrual cycle. After her mother – who based it on her “woman’s instinct” – told her that she was pregnant, Jiahui bought a pregnancy test kit and subsequently visited the doctor who confirmed the good news.

“We weren’t over the moon when we found out about it since we already had a hunch that I’d be pregnant,” she added.

Jiahui shared that the baby’s gender is currently unknown, but quipped that she is open to having either a boy or girl, especially since she intends to have two kids in future.

The only downside of pregnancy for now is bloating, fatigue, craving for fried food and an increase in appetite. “I get really hungry easily these days which is why I bring bread with me everywhere I go. I had to eat about five meals a day in the beginning,” she said.

Thankfully, she’s been spared from unnecessary weight gain despite her huge appetite and has only gained less than 1 kilogram so far.

The secretive deejay shared that her husband and her are excited to welcome this new addition to their family and revealed that it will be a September baby.
