Korean television station SBS
announced yesterday (Nov 4) that the special edition of Inkigayo, its
weekly music programme, which was slated to be held in China, has been
canceled.
The confirmed lineup included B2ST, CNBLUE, Girl’s Day, 2AM, SISTAR, BIGBANG’s Taeyang, Shinhwa, EXO and TEENTOP.
The
24th anniversary special was scheduled to be held at the Shenzhen
Universiad Sports Center on November 8 but was canceled due to what SBS
declared as a breach of contract by the local organisers.
A
representative from the company stated that the unfavourable conditions
due to the lack of preperation for the event, together with other
pre-determined requirements as stated in the initial contract were
factors that led to their decision.
They concluded, “We apologise to all the fans who love K-Pop.”
