SM Entertainment confirmed today (Nov 5) that Super Junior member Shindong will be enlisting for active duty on November 25.
The
label announced that he will undergo five weeks of basic training in
Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi as part of the 306th battalion before he starts his
mandatory 21-month service.
Shindong
will no longer participate in the group’s tour, Super Show 6, as he is
currently preparing for enlistment. The group recently wrapped up its
shows at the Tokyo Dome on October 29 & 30, which the 29-year-old
did not attend.
The show kicked off in Seoul on September 19 and will travel to cities such as Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok and Beijing.
Shindong stepped down as the DJ of MBC Radio’s Shim Shim Ta Pa after six years on the job.
Fellow member Yesung is currently serving the military and is expected to be discharged on May 31 next year.
