Former Kara member Kang Ji Young spoke about her aspirations as an actress.
Kang Ji Young made her first public appearance in Korea since leaving Kara one year ago at a reporters roundtable for film Assassination Classroom, held at the Lotte Cinema World Tower location in Seoul′s Songpa-gu on August 17. In the upcoming film, Kang Ji Young plays Irina Jelavic, an assassin who doubles as a sexy teacher. Her character, who has been deployed for the assassination, displays her sexiness through her voluptuous figure and beauty.
Kang Ji Young said, "I′m showing a sexy side for the first time through this project. The Kang Ji Young people imagine is still young and cute" before adding "I′m already 22 years old. I will work hard to show my mature side in the future."
She continued, "There′s a scene where I point a gun in order to show myself as a cool assassin, and the director directed it really well. I was shocked when I saw it on the screen. I worked hard to change my image, and I′m curious as to how others will view it."
Meanwhile, Assassination Classroom is based on a Japanese manga of the same name. The story is centered on the students of class 3-E, who are promised a reward of 100 billion won if they assassinate the monster who is posing as their teacher. The movie premieres on August 27.
