The second song in iKON′s double digital single release will be Apology.
YG Entertainment released a poster on its official blog on November 11, unveiling the title of the second single. The poster depicts a shutter door in a foggy room with the title Apology stamped in the center.The poster also reads, LYRICS BY : TEDDY, KUSH, B.I, BOBBY’, ‘COMPOSED BY : TEDDY, KUSH’, ‘ARRANGED BY : TEDDY, KUSH,’ revealing that B.I and Bobby contributed to the lyrics, alongside YG′s in-house producers Teddy and Kush, on the track, while Teddy and Kush also composed and arranged the ssong.
Apology is a slow, R&B track that conveys the sadness and pain of not being able to protect the one you love and having to let them go. Of the two new singles dropping on November 16, iKON will be promoting this song on music programs as the title song, while B.I & Bobby′s unit track Anthem will be released as a sub-title song.
Many are curious to see how iKON will bring the slow, R&B track to life and whether the group will follow in the footsteps of My Type′s and Rhythm Ta′s success.
iKON, who dominated music charts and music programs with debut warm-up single My Type in September and the first half of the group′s debut album Welcome Back in October, will be releasing Anthem and Apology with the accompanying music videos on November 16 before the full album drops on December 14.
