While attending the premiere of his new movie, the action–thriller Saving Mr. Wu, Hong Kong singer and actor Andy Lau revealed what we pretty much guessed about the intensely private star.
Asked how he celebrated his 54th birthday (on September 27), Andy said he had a meal with his family that day, and received a kiss from his 3-year-old daughter, Hanna.
On whether his wife, Carol Chu, presented him with gifts or offered kisses, he shook his head with a laugh and said, “No, that’s not how we celebrate special occasions. We’re just happy to spend time together.”
Andy held an early birthday celebration in Hong Kong on September 19 with fans and family, and his wife and daughter made a rare public appearance at the event. The two even joined the Cantopop star on stage.
Regarding speculation that Andy and Hanna would join the cast of Chinese reality show Where Are We Going, Dad?, the singer denied the rumours. “I didn’t receive any invitation to join the show, and even if I did I wouldn’t go,” he said.
