Taiwanese singer Will Liu came under fire for allegedly making use of Jay Chou’s name to promote his newly established J CAFÉ in Shanghai.
The café, which is said to have Jay’s name and picture hung up within its walls, has given visitors the impression that it is his store. His label, JVR Music, clarified that Jay has not invested nor had any hand in the venture, and that the café is fully owned and handled by Will instead. Upon reading the clarification, fans have voiced out their dissatisfaction and have even gone as far as to ask if Will was making use of Jay’s name for his own business.
Jay responded personally to the matter via his Weibo, where he shared, “I’ll support my brother and hope that he can do well with J CAFÉ. (I hope that) fans don’t worry any further and this hasn’t affected our friendship in any way. I’m only concerned about what photos he’s put up – I’ll take away any unflattering photos or stills of myself.”
