Chinese singer Faye Wong will be holding her first concert in four
years on December 30 in Shanghai in a highly-anticipated comeback.
Tickets for the concert, Faye’s Moments Live 2016, have yet to go on sale but ticket scalpers have already started hawking the prized tickets at inflated prices.
Due
to the high demand for tickets to the show, front row seats are
reported to have been marked up to a whopping RMB 200,000 (approximately
S$40,000), while a seat within the first ten rows from the stage are
priced at an exorbitant RMB 88,000 (approximately S$18,000).
According
to Chinese media reports, the organiser has ten-page list of people who
they have pre-sold tickets to and includes big names such as Hong Kong
actor Tony Leung and his wife Carina Lau.
Due to the sky-high
prices and limited ticket quantities, ardent fans are hopeful the ticket
resellers have yet to physically obtain the tickets, which increases
the chances of them buying the tickets directly from the organiser at
the original price.
However, there is hope for fans who cannot
afford the five figure sum as a pay-to-watch live broadcast of the
concert is currently in the midst of discussions and will allow them to
watch the concert in the comfort of their homes.
