Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao, 36, has reportedly been separated from her Singaporean beau, businessman Elroy Cheo, for about half a year, according to Taiwan media.
A source close to Elva revealed that it was their incompatible personalities that caused the breakup. Elva’s two-year relationship with Elroy was rumoured to be in trouble last July, but the couple talked it through and made up. But in the end they decided to part, and though they remain good friends, neither intends to reconcile again.
Elroy unfollowing Elva on Instagram did not lead to their breakup, the source added.
The singer began dating Elroy, Vanness Wu’s brother-in-law, in 2014 after she split from Taiwanese actor Kai Ko.
While performing at a company event on Saturday night, Elva didn’t give a clear reply when asked whether she was still seeing Elroy. Instead she said she was focusing on her work for now, but in future she’s open to relationships with marriage in mind.
