The sense of pride you have in your secondary school never quite goes
away, even years after graduation day. Regardless of whether you are
still in your alma mater, the inaugural MediaCorp Battle of the Schools X
Country Run is the best time to meet up with your secondary school
buddies for a good time.
On September 6, local stars Edwin Goh
(Holy Innocents' High School), Ian Fang (Bendemeer Secondary School) and
Jayley Woo (Tanglin Secondary School) will also dust off their PE
uniforms for the race, which will be split into the Open and School
categories and held at MacRitchie Reservoir. Students from secondary
schools will be able to register for free in the student category (3.2km
race) via their respective schools.
For those who have left their
secondary school days behind them, registration for the open category
(7.35km race) is at S$42, which also includes your secondary school PE
attire. All participants in both categories will also receive a goodie
bag that includes a Finishers’ Tee and a race bib with timing chip.
To
bring out the competitive streak in you, the male and female winners of
the categories will each receive a S$500 cash prize and a grand prize
of S$1,000 cash will be awarded to the school with the shortest average
time for both categories.
