Star Radio Group observes the National Day Of Mourning

The stations under the Star Radio Group will observe the National Day of Mourning on 22nd August to honour the Malaysians of MH17, in particular their long and arduous journey back home as they are finally laid to rest.

The stations’ breakfast show welcome calls and messages from fellow Malaysians who wish to also honour those who perished in this tragedy. The stations will then take the feed from RTM from the venue of the official ceremony to honour those returning home from 10:30am to 12pm.

“We mourn the loss of our fellow countrymen, and we invite our listeners to tune in – whether from their cars, offices, homes – to mark this day when they are competing their journey home,” says Kudsia Kahar, COO of Star Radio Group.

Among invited interviewees to SRG stations will be therapists who will share their expertise on how to handle sudden loss of life, grief and overcoming tragedy, so that SRG listeners can empathise with loved ones of the fallen of MH17.
