Last week, Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou’s neighbour reportedly
divulged that the singer and his girlfriend, Hannah Quinlivan, had
secretly registered their marriage in May and are currently living
together. At the press conference of new idol drama Heart of Steel on Sunday, Hannah refuted the claims and admitted that Jay did not propose on her birthday last Tuesday.
Seemingly
disappointed by her boyfriend’s lack of action, Hannah added that she
received a “practical gift” from Jay. When probed on the couple’s
wedding date, the 21-year-old straightforwardly replied: “I don’t know.”
To show his support for Hannah’s latest project, Jay lent his heavy-duty motorbike, which is worth NT$4.5 million (approximately S$180,000), to the producer for filming. While Hannah claimed that she has never rode on the vehicle, the actress was seen happily snapping photos of it with her mother, who kept a low profile throughout the event.
Hounded by reporters on her daughter’s relationship status, Hannah’s mother declined to comment and simply thanked the media for their concern.
