Adam Levine is planning spring baby

Adam Levine is planning to have a baby with Behati Prinsloo next spring.

The 'Sugar' hitmaker, who married the Namibian-born model in Mexico last July, admits they are eager start a family ''soon,'' but will probably wait until 2016.

Asked by his 'The Voice' USA co-star Christina Aguilera, who has two children, Max, seven, and five-month-old daughter Summer Rain, when they're going to have their first child, the 35-year-old star told her during a joint interview with E! News: ''Oh dude, soon. I don't know Christina. We're looking at the next year. We have some time. Next spring.''

The Maroon 5 frontman previously admitted he wanted to have about 17 children with Behati.

He said: ''[I want] like, 17. Is that reasonable? I love kids so much though. I love seeing kids on the set too.

''Yeah, we're gonna do it at some point in the not-so-distant-slash-undisclosed-slash-I-really-have-no-idea-big-question-mark future.''

But a source recently revealed they had delayed their plans because Behati, 25, thinks she's too young to be a mother.

The insider said: ''She doesn't want to be a mom just yet. She wants to work for a few more years. Adam is really upset, but there's nothing that will change her mind.

''Adam has been whining that he doesn't want to be an old dad. He wants to be a daddy right now.''
