Taiwanese actress and singer Barbie Hsu, 39, has revealed that her second child is a boy. On Sunday night she expressed her Chinese New Year wish for a smooth delivery and to give birth to a healthy baby boy.
The actress has a daughter, Hsi-yueh, nearly 2, with her husband, Chinese entrepreneur Wang Xiaofei, whom she married in 2010. Barbie said even though Xiaofei is an only child, her in-laws have never pressured her to produce a boy.
Now four months pregnant, Barbie has already started planning her return to work after giving birth. She said she acting would be her first order of business, and she hopes to receive good screenplays immediately.
The actress and her husband also donated NT$2.6 million (approximately S$110,000) to earthquake relief efforts in Tainan, after a magnitude-6.4 quake took place on February 6. Barbie’s sister Dee, along with her husband and in-laws, donated NT$2 million (approximately S$90,000) to the same cause.
