Jessica Chastain to star in Woman Walks Ahead?

Jessica Chastain is in negotiations to star in 'Woman Walks Ahead'.

The 38-year-old actress is being lined up to play Caroline Weldon, an adviser to Sioux chieftain Sitting Bull in the new movie which is based on a real life story, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Weldon left her home in New York in the 19th century to move to the Standing Rock Reservation in Dakota Territory where she helped Sitting Bull and his people keep their land.

Susanna White will direct while Steven Knight has written the script.

The movie will be produced by Ed Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz, Rick Solomon and Erika Olde.

Meanwhile, Jessica gushed about starring in 'The Martian' with Matt Damon because it taps into her interest in space travel.

The flame-haired beauty recalled: "I didn't get a call that said Ridley Scott wants me for the movie. It was more like, 'Do you want to meet with Ridley for the film?' Because, you know, maybe Ridley meets me and goes, 'Oh, she's terrible, let's not put her in the movie.'

"But I was really excited by it because also I'd just done 'Interstellar' and I'd become really interested in space exploration.

"I knew that to play an astronaut it would kind of open the doors at NASA and my inner-geek would fly! And I would learn so much, so I was very excited."
