After veteran boyband 5566’s reunion performance at the Golden Bell Awards last weekend, the group looks set to make a full comeback.
According to reports, members Tony Sun, Zax Wang and Jason Hsu will be hosting an upcoming outdoor reality programme, titled The Hunger Games.
The show will aim to test the limits of the hosts and their guests’
ability to withstand hunger, and will require them to refrain from
eating anything after midnight on the day before the shoot. Those who
successfully complete the task and challenges on the show will then be
rewarded with food to eat.
When asked about their thoughts on
hosting a programme together after a long break, the three members said,
“We already have very good chemistry, so we wouldn’t need an
‘ice-breaking period’ [to get to know each other].”
When the topic of member Sam Wang’s absence from the programme was
brought up, Zax expressed that it was a pity that Sam will not be
joining them. “Maybe he has his own private engagements,” Zax explained.
Leader
Tony Sun said, “The reunion of 5566 is [undoubtedly] stressful.
Additionally, [Sam] has his own projects and thinking.” He also extended
an invite to Sam, welcoming him to appear on the show as a guest.
Sam’s
manager also explained that Sam had agreed to appear on a separate
outdoor programme beforehand. The singer-actor is also busy directing
his own short film, thus, it’s hard for Sam to take on another project.
