Fan Bingbing posted a make up-less selfie taken on the streets on her
Weibo account last night while donning a black baseball cap and a face
mask. Other than praising her for her flawless skin, fans were quick to
point out that she was in fact back in her hometown, Yantai, which soon led to speculations of her going back to prepare for a secret wedding with partner Li Chen.
In fact, the couple was spotted house hunting in Hong Kong in September, although they made no direct comments on the issue at that time.
Ranking
fifth on the Forbes list of highest paid female actresses this year
(she is believed to have pocketed an estimated S$23.5 millon in earnings
from June 2015 to June 2016), Bingbing have always expressed that she
has no wish to marry a wealthy man and boldly declared, at a promotional
event for her 2011 movie Buddha Mountain, “I’ve never thought of
marrying into a rich family, because I myself am a prized catch.”
This has led fans to comment that “Lichen’s will never be as rich as Bingbing even if he gets more famous”.
However,
it was recently disclosed by Taiwanese media that her partner, Li Chen,
has family assets worth RMB 10 billion (estimated S$2 billion), and
owns countless luxury cars. He was also ranked 19 on Forbes list of
richest Chinese celebrities and will be making a directorial debut soon.
