Vivian Hsu’s husband, Singapore-based businessman Sean Lee, was
previously rumoured to be facing financial trouble. Addressing the
speculation for the first time, the actress neither denied nor confirmed
the rumours and instead shared that their family believes that “it’s
okay even if we’re broke. It’s not a big deal and we’ll be penniless at
worst – we were born into this world with nothing anyway.”
The
41-year-old once declared that she would remain single for life but
surprised many with her wedding announcement. Guesting on Taiwanese talk
show, TVBS People, she shed tears when talking about the romance which changed her life.
Vivian
shared that in the first year that she got to know Sean, their friends
got together to throw a birthday celebration for him when he received a
call telling him that his daughter was running a fever. He immediately
excused himself to return home to see his daughter, which made Vivian
feel extremely touched.
“I realised that it was possible for a
father and daughter to have such a relationship,” she explained. “This
man, like me, puts great emphasis on family and is very close to his
family members. I got a shock when I saw him drying his daughter’s hair
(and I realised that) it’s possible for this kind of love to exist.”
She
continued that a major reason why she was moved by Sean is because he
gives her a sense of security and stability and that he taught her
“being blessed doesn’t mean wearing the finest of clothing and eating
the most expensive food”. Calling him someone who has similar values as
her, Vivian expressed that her husband is very much like her nickname
‘Steel V’.
Vivian married Sean Lee, CEO of logistics company
Marco Polo Marine, in Bali two years ago. The latter’s company is said
to be affected by the recent oil price slump and an ongoing legal case
with Sembcorp Marine.
