Chinese actress-director Vicki Zhao is said to have spent a whopping
RMB 40 million (estimated S$8 million) on renovations of her mansion.
Photos of her sprawling estate surfaced yesterday and made rounds on the
internet for its opulence a “guest appearance” by Vicki’s daughter,
April Huang (nicknamed “Little April”).
In
said pictures, Little April is seen peering out of the window from the
interior of Vicki’s mansion and posing in front of the house. The
picture gave fans an idea of the mansion’s theme with the modernised
white French windows and elegant glass furniture featured in it.
An avid property buyer, the 2014 Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress
is also said to own multiple properties across Beiiing and Shanghai and
even owns a posh villa by a lake worth RMB 20 million (estimated S$4.3
million). She also bought a piece of property in Southern France, a
17-acre vineyard Chateau Monlot in the Saint Emilion region of Bordeaux,
which is estimated to have cost her 4 to 5 million euros, in 2011.
Vicki soared to fame after playing Xiao Yan Zi in 1998 Chinese drama, My Fair Princess, alongside close friend Ruby Lin, who played Xia Ziwei. She has gone on to star in box office hits such as Red Cliff and Shaolin Soccer and went behind the scenes to produce her critically acclaimed first film, So Young, in 2013.
She was last seen acting in Johnnie To’s 2016 crime-thriller film, Three, alongside Louis Khoo and Wallace Chung.
