Celine Dion announces European tour

Celine Dion is to perform in the UK for the first time in eight years.

The 'My Heart Will Go On' hitmaker has been largely based in Las Vegas, where she has a residency, in recent times but will head out on the road for a European jaunt that will take in16 shows in 14 cities in June and can't wait to see her fans.

She said: "I am so looking forward to returning to the UK and Europe this summer.

"These wonderful cities hold such special memories for me and I'm really excited to be seeing all my fans again."

As well as performing two nights at London's The O2 on June 20 and 21, a show in Manchester on June 25 and closing the tour in Birmingham on July 27, Celine will also play gigs in Denmark, Sweden,Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany, as well as a string of shows in various cities in France.

Team Celine members will be able to buy their tickets from 12pm local time on Thursday (26.01.17) ahead of general sale on February 3.

Celine recently paid tribute to her beloved husband Rene Angelil with a video message marking a year since he lost his battle with throat cancer.

She captioned the video: "It's been a year since René left us. He will always be in our hearts."

The footage started with a picture of René, 73, as a baby and ended with him receiving a kiss from Celine.

René had six children; Patrick, 48, from his first marriage to Denyse Duquette; Jean Pierre, 42, and Anne Marie, 39, from his second marriage to Anne Renée; and René-Charles, 15, and twins Nelson and Eddy, six, with Celine.

And Celine admitted that René's battle with cancer was tough for the entire family.

She said: "Before he left, it was very, very difficult for all of us. For me especially, and my children, to see the man of my life die a little bit more every day. And when he left, it was kind of a relief for me that the man that I love, the only man that I kissed, the only man that I loved - yeah, I never kissed another man in my life. So, the man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So, when he stopped suffering, I said to myself, 'He's OK. And he deserves not to suffer.'"
