Andy Lau promises to make full recovery

Andy Lau has promised his fans that he will make a full recovery soon, less than two weeks after he sustained multiple fractures in his pelvic area, along with tendon and muscle injuries after a bad fall from a horse.

With Chinese New Year falling shortly after his injury, Andy’s annual gathering with fans, which was slated to take place on January 30 this year, was canceled as the Heavenly King is still in hospital. Apart from apologising for the event cancellation, the notice also promised that “Andy will listen to all of you so that you don’t have to worry about him!”

His close friends, director Peter Chan and his wife, actress Sandra Ng, paid him a visit on the eve of Chinese New Year and commented after their visit that “he’s still very handsome”. They were, however, unable to provide further details on his current condition, which has been kept tightly under wraps.

Although he could not be physically with his fans this year, Andy made sure to leave a message for his fans on his official site. “Everyone, it’s the start of a new year! I’ve received every single bit of love from all of you; let’s have our gathering on a spiritual level instead this year!” He continued, “Trust in me that I’ll be able to greet all of you and have fun in the pink of health very soon! I wish everyone health and happiness in the Year of the Rooster!”

It was previously reported that Andy will have to be hospitalised for up to two months and go through nine months of rehabilitation to make a full recovery.
