Kim Woo Bin rejects lead role in Hong Sisters’ drama

Kim Woo Bin has officially rejected the leading role in the upcoming Hong Sisters’ drama, Warm & Cozy.

The actor has gone through a meteoric rise in popularity after starring alongside Lee Jong Suk in School 2013. He later worked on the drama The Heirs and movies The Con Artists and Twenty.

His possible return to dramaland was celebrated by fans when it was confirmed that a leading role in the Hong Sisters’ new drama was offered to the young star. His agency, Sidus HQ, however, dashed all hopes when it confirmed today (March 19) that he has turned down the offer.

Elaborating, they shared that the drama’s schedule clashed with his pre-existing commitments. Sidus HQ added that they turned it down as Kim Woo Bin would be unable to prepare for his role adequately.

Warm & Cozy, initially titled Jeju Island Gatsby, will be helmed by the Hong Sisters, Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran. The scriptwriters have written scripts for a wealth of hit dramas, including 2005’s My Girl, 2010’s My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox, 2011’s The Greatest Love and 2013’s Master’s Sun. This project will also see the dynamic duo reunite with the director of The Greatest Love.

Warm & Cozy is slated to air on MBC in May.
