Former EXO member Luhan is slated to make his Hollywood debut as Legendary Pictures’s Chinese venture, Legendary East, revealed the full cast for its upcoming film, The Great Wall.
The movie’s cast includes big names such as Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Andy Lau and Eddie Peng. In a 2011 announcement by the company, the film is said to “reveal the legend behind a great mystery of our age: why this magnificent structure (The Great Wall) came to be”.
The movie was first conceptualised years ago but has faced numerous delays. With the confirmation of the full cast, The Great Wall is set to begin production in the near future.
The casting news was announced amidst S.M. Entertainment’s declaration to take firm action against parties that engage Luhan in any commercial activities after filing lawsuits against him in Hong Kong and Shanghai courts. It was previously reported that the young star will be starring with high-flying Chinese actress Yang Mi in I Am A Witness, a Chinese remake of Korean movie Blind.
He filed for contract nullification against S.M. in October, citing poor health as part of the reason for his departure.
The Great Wall is slated to begin production this month and is slated to open on November 23, 2016.
