Taiwanese singer-actor Richie Ren made an appearance at an event promoting his new film, Trivisa.
As the 50-year-old is good friends with Taiwanese actor Wallace Huo and
has acted alongside Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin a few times, he was
naturally asked about the celebrity couple’s surprise wedding announcement last week.
However,
the actor claimed to have been kept in the dark regarding their
upcoming nuptials as well, and that he only knew when he saw the media
reporting about their wedding announcement.
“Maybe it’s because
I’m a little slow [on the uptake], [but] I’ll find some time to
congratulate them,” he laughed. While he has yet to receive their
wedding invitation, Richie revealed that he has been travelling all over
the place for work recently, and has not had the opportunity to meet
the couple yet. The actor also expressed that he hopes to be able to
find time to attend their wedding and share their joy.
It also
looked as if Richie had some secrets that he was unable to share, as he
suddenly stopped short in the middle of the conversation and said,
“There’s a lot of matters that I know about, but am unable to speak
about. If I do [speak about it], no-one will tell me their secrets
anymore. I know too many secrets,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, Ruby and Wallace, who are in the midst of preparing for
the July 31 big day, made efforts to spend time with each other amidst
their busy schedules and the actress was seen flying back to Taiwan on
Sunday to have dinner with Wallace.
In the wee hours of the morning, she also updated her Weibo with two Cold War 2 movie tickets, showing her support for Taiwanese actor Tony Yang, who appears in the film.
However,
upon seeing two ticket stubs, netizens immediately jumped to the
conclusion that she “watched the movie with Wallace” and relayed their
blessings to the happy couple. A couple of fans have also expressed
their happiness at seeing Ruby being so open with her relationship.
