At the Shanghai press conference for the upcoming romantic drama film Summer’s Desire <泡沫之夏>, lead actor Him Law (羅仲謙) shared that he and his wife Tavia Yeung (楊怡) will soon be starring in a Chinese reality show together.
“I feel quite anxious about it,” said
Him. “Tavia and I have worked together in dramas before, but never in a
platform like this. It’s something new for the both of us. I’m really
curious to see how Tavia’s like when she’s on game mode.”
The couple, who tied the knot in a
private wedding ceremony in England last March, will also be holding
their Chinese wedding banquet in Hong Kong this October. Him has
expressed several times in the past that he would like to have children,
but when asked if he and Tavia were planning to have kids, Him gave a
hesitant response.
“She said she needs to keep fit for the October banquet. We’ll probably plan about it after we’re done with everything at hand.”
Summer’s Desire is based on the novel of the same name by Chinese author Ming Xiaoxi (明曉溪). It was adapted into a television drama in 2010, which starred Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛), Peter Ho (何潤東), and Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明).
Him said he has read the novel and watched the original television series for inspiration. In the film, he plays a couple with Wang Cancan
(黃燦燦), who is 11 years younger. Him, who has spent most of his acting
career thus far working with older actors, said a lot of the cast
members in Summer’s Desire were younger rookies. He said with a laugh, “Working with them, I’ve felt like I’ve become younger.”
Summer’s Desire is directed by Lai Chun-yu (賴俊羽) and produced by Gigi Leung (梁詠琪). The film opens on July 22, 2016.
