Taiwanese host Jacky Wu’s 18-year-old son has recently graduated from
high school and is set to attend Mandopop star Lee Hom’s alma mater,
the Berklee College of Music, which is reported to cost NT$2 million
(approximately S$84 000) in tuition fees yearly.
Recently,
the 53-year-old revealed on Facebook that he was unable to attend his
son, Rick Wu’s high school graduation ceremony and regretted it as it
was his “first time missing out on his children’s graduation ceremony”.
The host also revealed that he had a filming schedule, together with his
daughter, Sandy Wu at that time.
It was also reported that Jacky
is very proud of his son’s musical achievements and had even proclaimed
that his piano skills are better than Mandopop star Jay Chou, whom he
used to mentor.
“I only have one son, and I’ve always told him to be independent, and
he has yet to let me down so far,” Jacky posted, praising his son.
“He
will be heading to Berklee in August to further his studies, and I’ve
given him a blue backpack as a present, in the hopes that he will be
able to bring along the dreams I’ve never managed to achieve with him as
he travels the world. It’s often hard for a father to voice out the
love he has for his son. We used to be shoulder-to-shoulder, but now, I
feel as if it’s harder for me to reach his shoulders now, as he grows
taller and broader,” the host shared.
Additionally, it was also
reported that Jacky, who is known to dote on his children, has sent all
four of his children to America for further studies, which has cost him a
total of NT$32 million (approximately S$1.34 million).
