Amber, 30, has accused Johnny, 53, of physically assaulting her
throughout their 15-month marriage but despite the actress being granted
a restraining order against him, Jaime, 37, says "we cannot take sides
in a situation that we're not there for".
Speaking to Us Weekly, she said: "It's all hearsay. It's all 'he said,
she said'. Frankly, it's not about sides because we cannot take sides in
a situation that we're not there for, bottom line. It's about loving
and supporting each person by saying, give them their privacy let them
work it out. Also, bring awareness to any sort of domestic violence no
matter what happened or did not happen."
"Bottom line, what bothers me the most is that people are being hurt on
both sides. It is a deeply painful situation and people are treating it
as if it's entertainment, and it's not f**king funny. And it's not
entertaining."
Jaime played Johnny's daughter in 2001 movie 'Blow' and says she has "so much respect for him".
She explained: "It makes me really emotional. Listen, I love Johnny
Depp. One of my very first movies he played my father. I learned so much
from him. I have so much respect for him. He is one of the most loving,
kind, generous, attentive, brilliant men that I've ever met.
"I would have scenes that he wasn't even in and he wouldn't even leave.
He would just stay to watch. He would rehearse with me. There was so
much that I learned from him. He was an incredible mentor. Being able to
work with someone like that at the beginning of my career really taught
me what it meant to be a true professional and a true artist."
And Jaime also praised Amber, saying: "I love Amber. I think that she's
an incredible bright light. She's a beautiful human being."
Amber recently filed for divorce from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean'
actor and has accused him of being physically and verbally abusive
towards her during their marriage.
The actress' pal iO Tillet Wright, who called the police after Johnny
allegedly attacked Amber last month, recently said that Amber was left
with a "busted lip and clumps of hair on the floor" after an "all-out
assault".
Johnny has denied the allegations.
