iO Tillett Wright, who was named in Heard's court documents requesting a restraining order from Depp, took to Twitter this evening to sound off on the constant "victim blaming" being thrown against the celeb, who has openly revealed that the A-lister allegedly struck her on numerous occasions throughout their relationship.
In a series of tweets, which seemed to have initially sparked from a TMZ article about the domestic abuse, Wright wrote, "BULLSHIT. I've had enough. I saw the bruises. Many times. And the fat lip. And the cut head...How much evidence does a woman need to present?! She has photos, texts, witnesses, and filed a restraining order."
She continued, "But no...a neighbor asked a doorman and talked to TMZ
and THAT is headline news and serves as "evidence"?! Dear neighbor -
SHAME ON YOU...This culture of victim blaming makes me sick. I'm a
witness. I'm here. I'm standing up. I can't take any more of this witch
hunt."
Wright concludes, "I was on the f--king phone when he hit
her. I HEARD HER SCREAM. I will testify. Here and in court. Under oath.
WHAT ELSE DOES A WOMAN NEED?"
In Heard declaration, which was
obtained by E! News, the actress noted that she called Wright during one
of the alleged altercations, saying Depp "demanded we call our friend
iO Tillet Wright to prove his paranoid and irrational accusations about
some delusional idea he was having," according to the court documents.
Heard
said she talked to iO through the speaker phone, but Depp "ripped the
cell phone from my hand and began screaming profanities and insults at
iO. I heard iO yell at me to get out of the house. Johnny then grabbed
the cell phone, wound up his [sic] arm like a baseball pitcher and threw
the cell phone at me striking my cheek and eye with great force."
Heard
yelled to iO to call 911. "Johnny continued screaming at me, pulling my
hair, striking me and violently grabbing my face," she stated.
While
Johnny has not directly addressed the accusations made by Amber, his
rep released a statement shortly after the couple filed for divorce.
"Given
the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his
mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories,
gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life," Johnny's rep
told E! News. "Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."
