The rumours of Andy Lau and Carol Chu becoming second-time parents have intensified recently, with new reports of Carol giving birth to their second child secretly last month surfacing this week.
These
new reports alleged that Carol gave birth to a baby outside of Hong
Kong in early August and that she is currently in the midst of her
post-natal confinement.
According to sources, the 50-year-old was
said to have gone to great lengths to get pregnant with a baby boy to
add to their family lineage and fulfil Andy’s wishes of having a son.
Carol
was said to have sought the advice of a fertility specialist, Dr.
William So Wai Ki, and a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner,
Master Chan Tai, to help increase her pregnancy chances while undergoing
IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) treatment.
She was last seen
attending her husband’s early birthday celebration (Andy turned 55 on
September 27), dressed in black loose-fitting clothes, looking tired and
weary.
In March this year, the former Malaysian beauty queen
was photographed in Hong Kong with a protruding belly and was speculated
to be four months pregnant then. Andy did not address these reports
officially, although he promised to “announce the news” on his official website if it’s true, at the red carpet ceremony for the 35th Hong Kong film Awards in April this year.
Andy married Carol in 2008, and their first daughter, Hanna Lau, was born in 2012.
