Johnny Depp is to star in the 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' sequel.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor will appear alongside the returning
Eddie Redmayne, who will reprise his role as Newt Scamander, in the
forthcoming film, which will be directed by David Yates.
According to Deadline, Depp has landed a part in the motion picture but it is not known exactly what his role will be.
The publication claims the 53-year-old actor has a very small part to
play in the first movie in the franchise which is set to hit cinemas on
November 18.
The films are based on the books by 'Harry Potter' author J.K. Rowling
and tells the story of writer Newt in New York's secret community of
witches and wizards, 70 years before Harry reads the books.
But before Depp joins up with the 'Fantastic Beasts' cast he will shoot
the 'Murder on the Orient Express' remake - his first film role since
his divorce from Amber Heard.
Depp will play Ratchett in the project after holding discussions with
director Kenneth Branagh - who will also star as Detective Hercule
Poirot - and reading the script penned by Michael Green which has been
adapted from Agatha Christie's novel.
Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley have also been added to the star-studded cast as Mrs. Hubbard and Mary Debenham respectively.
The 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' sequel is due to be released in November 2018.
