Chu Keliang’s condition takes a turn for the worse

Days after denying rumours that Taiwanese entertainer Chu Keliang has passed away, new reports have emerged, claiming that the 70-year-old, who has colorectal cancer, is on the brink of death.

According to the reports, Keliang is now unable to breathe on his own, and relies on a medical ventilator to aid him in breathing.

Additionally, as his body is too weak to withstand treatment, he spends most of his days asleep. His family has also allegedly signed a ‘Do-Not-Resuscitate’ order for him, and are preparing for the worst.

In the past month, they have also been keeping vigil beside him, with his daughter, Taiwanese singer Jeannie Hsieh, unwilling to leave his side. Keliang was first diagnosed with stage two colorectal cancer in 2014.

At that time, he felt that treatment could only prolong his life by at most two years, so he eschewed treatment, in favour of continuing to earn more money.

Last year, Jeannie Hsieh played a video containing a message revealing her family’s complicated past at her concert, where she brought to light her father’s infidelities, amongst other allegations.

He responded with a video message the next day, where he called her “poisonous and vicious”. They have since reconciled.

Huang Xiaoming praised for gentlemanly behaviour

A netizen’s post on Weibo recounting her chance encounter with Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming and his wife, Hong Kong model-actress Angelababy has been making the rounds online.

The netizen shared that she was out with her husband and friends when they ran into Xiaoming and Angelababy.

The first thing she did was to snap a picture of the couple on her phone, but Xiaoming’s personal assistant gently told her not to do so.

The netizen’s husband then asked the assistant if they could take a picture with the star couple.

When the assistant relayed their request to Xiaoming, he graciously accepted, but asked if it was okay to take the picture with him alone, to protect Angelababy, who had recently given birth.

After the picture was taken, he wished them a good day and left.

The netizen recounted her experience with him online. “Such an outstanding idol, gentle and loving towards your wife as well… no wonder you’re so popular,” she wrote, praising the 39-year-old to the high heavens.

Many netizens later commented on her post as well, sharing that they found the actor to be very humble and nice as well. The actor has been married to Angelababy for almost two years.

They recently welcomed the third member of the family, a son, nicknamed ‘Little Sponge’ in January.

Dave Franco's wedding ring is too small

Dave Franco can't wear his wedding ring because his finger is too fat.

The 'Now You See Me 2' star tied the knot with Alison Brie in a secret ceremony earlier this month but says his large fingers are to blame for him not being able to wear his wedding band.

He confessed to E! News: "It was too small. My finger's fatter than I thought. We're getting it redone. "Don't act like it's not going to come. It's coming eventually ... [Married life] is great. Only positive things to say."

And the 31-year-old actor says his wedding to the 'How To Be Single' star was "really special and intimate".

He added: "It was great, it was really special. It was intimate, and it was really fun."

A representative for the couple confirmed they had tied the knot a couple of weeks ago but no other details about the wedding have been released since. It came after Dave admitted he and Alison - who got engaged back in August 2015 - considered eloping.

He said: "We keep kinda paring it down - to the point we might elope. Who knows? I don't need a big wedding. I don't want a big wedding."

And Alison gushed about her "incredible fiancé" and admitted she never wanted to get married until she fell in love with Dave.

She added: "I have an incredible fiancé. He's so wonderful. He's just the sweetest man I know. And he's so funny and incredible in every way ... "I never wanted to get married. I was just like, 'Well that's not my path in life, because I'm choosing this crazy lifestyle.' Then, you know, I fell in love. So, blah blah blah, amazing. Acting is fulfilling, but it's also not the only thing."

Scarlett Johansson always pushes herself

Scarlett Johansson thinks it is important to "push" herself.

The 'Ghost in the Shell' star feels it is crucial to constantly push the boundaries in both her personal and professional life. She said: "I keep trying to push whatever boundary I set for myself, that's important."

And one thing the 32-year-old actress had to push herself with was working out ahead of her role in the science fiction film.

She quipped to Entertainment Tonight: "My trainer probably looks at me and is like, I'm this young and clumsy sort of block of wood he has to carve something out of. But he's actually here today, and he actually helped me train for this film."

Meanwhile, Scarlett - who has two-year-old daughter Rose with her estranged husband Romain Dauriac - previously admitted she found it "grounding" to keep working whilst raising her daughter.

She said: "Even when I was shooting ['Ghost in the Shell'] I was still nursing. That is a very grounding [thing.] "If you ever needed to return to yourself, that is a pretty wonderful way to come back to yourself when you go home. You have to leave all that work stuff behind and be able to present with your kid. I am very thankful that's my reality at the end of the day."

And the blonde beauty only decided to take on her role in 'Ghost In The Shell' after consulting her therapist as it was so soon after her pregnancy.

She added: "I'd had my daughter a couple of months before and it just seemed like an enormous undertaking. But something about it was enigmatic and I sat on it and discussed it in therapy. It was on my mind."

Hebe Tien encourages women to chase their dreams

A fashionably-dressed Hebe Tien showed up at a Pandora event today.

She had just returned from Paris Fashion Week, and marvelled at the coincidence of being appointed ambassador for the brand after previously buying a gift for a friend and a bracelet for herself.

She and her family were scheduled to travel to Tokyo next week to celebrate her birthday among the cherry blossoms.

Today, she was presented with a bracelet with a string of charms representing a "family tree" by Pandora, and Hebe thought it might be the best birthday gift this year.

She would remember this special day whenever she looked at the "family tree".

Hebe then encouraged all women to live for the moment and be brave enough to chase their dreams.

She said that every step would be a learning experience, and a woman must be true to herself and embrace the things she loves.

Ariel Lin reveals baby plans for next year

Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin, who has been busy with promotions for her latest drama,

The Mysterious Family, had a livestream on Weibo recently, where she updated her fans on her day-to-day life.

Ariel, who has been married for two years to her businessman husband, Charles Lin, is often questioned on their plans to start a family.

During the livestream, the inevitable question came up once again, with the 34-year-old saying with a laugh, “Maybe next year, if God does give us one. But, I feel that it’ll be like a child taking care of a child.” It just so happened that the actress had tied her hair up that day, with a mini bun on top, making her look even younger than she is.

When fans asked for some anti-aging tips, she gamely revealed her three “must-dos”. “Have a balanced diet, eat everything, but in moderation. You must find a way to release all your stress, and lastly, you must sleep well,” Ariel said.

Finally, she also shared that a couple of fans had travelled to Hunan, China to welcome her at the airport.

The actress then reminded her fans to stay safe, as the majority of her fans were female.

Ariel and Charles tied the knot on Christmas Eve in 2014, and recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary in America.

Duchess Catherine to visit Luxembourg?

Duchess Catherine is reportedly planning a visit to Luxembourg in May.

The 35-year-old royal is set to stop by the small European country in two months' time, which will coincide with the 150th anniversary of the Treaty of London, but it's not yet known whether her husband Prince William will join her for the trip, according to the Luxemburger Wort newspaper.

Earlier this month, the royal couple - who have children; son George, three, and 22-month-old daughter Charlotte together - paid a visit to Paris, France.

The paid a visit to Les Invalides - a military hospital which houses Napoleon's tomb - where they met with some of the survivors of the terrorist attacks in the city in November 2015 which saw 129 people killed.

Prince William told the survivors: "We think you are very strong and very brave, you've made amazing progress."

Whilst meeting survivors of the attacks, Prince William and Duchess Catherine spoke to Jessica Bambal Akan, who was shot seven times during a birthday meal in the capital when the attacks took place.

The 25 year old was with three friends, who all survived, outside La Belle Equipe but their friend Victor Munoz, who was inside the venue, was killed. Jessica told the royals: "At first I didn't want to talk about it because of all of the pain and grief. Now I want to say we are not only victims, we have lives, we have boyfriends, girlfriends, work. "I want to speak about my friend who died to honour him, I want people to remember who he was. It's been very difficult. I got through this because of my friends, my boyfriend, my family who helped me all the time."

Another survivor who spoke to the royals was a man named only as Kevin, who was shot in the leg during the harrowing attack on the Bataclan theatre where rock band Eagles of Death Metal were playing a show.

He said after meeting with the pair: "It was a very positive experience because I was able to speak about what I went through. It feels very important to tell these stories and be listened to."

Both Jessica and Kevin, as well as many others like them, still receive treatment at Les Invalides hospital.

David Gandy: Social media makes people depressed

David Gandy thinks social media is causing people to feel "depressed".

The 37-year-old model has as many as 700,000 followers on Instagram and more than 100,000 followers on Twitter - but has warned of the dangers of living through the lens of social media.

He said: "It is something people need to look at. People are depressed. In a world where we are supposed to be so diverse and communicative, I see people put a phone or tablet on a dinner table."

David warned that social media users can easily build up an unrealistic image based on photos posted online.

But he rubbished the suggestion that his own body image is unrealistic, insisting he works extremely hard to maintain his enviable physique.

David told Campaign: "I train like an athlete and you don't look at an athlete and say their body image is unrealistic."

In fact, David admitted last year that he works out "five times a week" for two months prior to shooting a new campaign.

The dark-haired hunk opened up about his preparation to promote Dolce and Gabbana's Light Blue fragrance, revealing he trained almost every day for a solid two months to be in the best shape possible.

Speaking during the promotional campaign for the brand, which he has been the face of since 2006, David shared: "It was a couple months of quite intense training.

I've skied since I was six so the skiing thing was quite natural, quite easy, which was good. "Well I train anyway, obviously, but when you're going into a shoot like that then you train probably a good two months before and go maybe four or five times a week."

The arrival of Hong Kong actor-singer William So’s baby son was a star-studded affair.

On Monday (March 20), William’s wife, designer Anita Fung, was accompanied into the delivery suite by Hong Kong actor Dicky Cheung and his wife, Jess Zhang.

They were so busy, they only had time to look at the birthing video in the middle of the night, as Anita had given birth at 9pm, said Dicky during a phone interview. “William helped to cut the baby’s umbilical cord, the sight was so touching,”

Dicky added. In a statement to the press, William said: “Thank you for your concern! Yes, I’ve become a dad! Both mother and son are safe, and the baby’s so cute! As a first-time dad, I feel very very touched and happy, of course.”

He even poked fun at himself, revealing that he was quite flustered as well.

The actor-singer then asked for everyone to give him some time to “settle down,” and promised to share his joy with everyone.

News that William had become a dad was revealed when composer Mark Lui, accidentally let slip that William had already become a dad at a promotional event yesterday.

William tied the knot with Anita in 2014, after divorcing his first wife in 2003.

Alyssa Chia’s ex-husband clashes with netizens on social media

Last Saturday (March 18), Taiwanese actress Alyssa announced that she had given birth to her second child with her current husband, Taiwanese actor Xiu Jiekai. On the same day, Alyssa’s ex-husband, Chinese businessman Sun Zhihao, uploaded a picture of a birthday card his 11-year-old daughter, Angelina Sun, whom he had with Alyssa, made for him.

As the businessman’s birthday was on March 6, netizens accused him of posting the card to draw attention away from Alyssa and spite her. “You only saw the card after more than 10 days, how busy can you get,” a netizen commented, only for Zhihao to fight back in his reply. “My daughter lives in Taipei and I live in Shanghai,” he said. “Yesterday, I flew to Taipei to see her, and saw the card she had made for me. Now, do you understand the situation?”.

Another issue that netizens took offence with was the fact that he did not cover Angelina’s face in the picture he had posted with her.

In the divorce agreement he had with Alyssa, she was not allowed to post pictures of Angelina’s face on the internet, or let her appear on television.

Thus, netizens have questioned if his post was appropriate. However, he replied, “That’s because the picture I posted was of Angelina when she was younger, not of her right now.” Though the businessman faced overwhelming criticism from netizens for his post, a lone user spoke up for Zihao and said: “Isn’t Alyssa making use of her daughter as well? Without her daughters, who would still remember her?” Alyssa’s fans took offence when Zihao responded to the comment with a “like.” They also condemned the user for taking news at face value.

Zhihao continued to stir the pot when he alleged that Alyssa’s accusations of domestic violence was untrue. “So when the news say there’s domestic violence, you’ll believe it? Did you actually see it happen?”

When a fan asked him if he was denying the fact that he had hit Alyssa, Zhihao replied, “I was only using your own logic to refute you,” neither denying nor confirming the reports his domestic violence at home.

Alyssa and Jiekai welcomed their first child, Bubu, in 2015; the actress was previously married to Sun Zhihao with whom she had her first daughter, Angelina. Sun Zhihao, on the other hand, tied the knot with Taiwanese model Novia Lin last year.

Rihanna grossed out watching herself on TV

Rihanna can't bear watching herself on television.

The 'Work' hitmaker shared a video of herself viewing her sex scenes in 'Psycho' prequel 'Bates Motel' on Instagram Live on Monday evening (20.03.17) in her debut episode of the new series of the thriller show as Marion Crane, Norman Bates' victim.

In the clip, Rihanna covered her face during the scene where she gets intimate with her on-screen boyfriend, Sam Loomis (Austin Nichols).

The 29-year-old Bajan beauty cringed as she admitted she can't stand the sound of her own voice. She said: "This is so weird, oh my God. I can't. I can't hear my voice. It's, like, gross!" She proposed to her followers that she should down a shot of tequila every time she uttered the name "Norman" on the show.

In her opening scenes, Rihanna debuted a short red bob hairdo as she got down and dirty with her lover before asking him to marry her after he revealed he is in debt.

Marion then decided to follow him to the motel in Oregon. Rihanna appears in just two episodes in the upcoming fifth season, which will be the series' final run.

On casting the R&B superstar, executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin previously said: "We wanted to thrust the iconic role into a contemporary spotlight and redefine it in a meaningful and exciting new way.

We also heard Rihanna was a fan of the show, and we were huge fans of hers, so it was the perfect collision of creativity and fate." Carlton teased at the time that Marion's introduction would be "a big moment", and explained: "We will be colliding with certain events in the narrative of the film, but it would be boring to just recreate 'Psycho'."

Elizabeth Olsen 'is dating Robbie Arnett'

Elizabeth Olsen is reportedly dating musician Robbie Arnett.

The 28-year-old actress was recently spotted walking arm-in-arm through the streets of New York City with the singer-songwriter and Elizabeth is apparently "excited" by their long-term prospects as a couple. A source said: "They are in an exclusive relationship and Lizzie is excited about him."

The relationship is still in its early stages, but the insider said there is an obvious attraction between Elizabeth and Robbie.

The source told E! News: "She deserves it. It's very new though, but they seem to like each other a lot already."

The 'Captain America: Civil War' star is the younger sister of actresses and fashion designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and she has previously discussed the challenges of growing up in their shadow. Elizabeth - who was engaged to actor Boyd Holbrook before they ended their relationship in 2015 - admitted she has had to learn to deal with the comparisons between herself and her siblings.

She said: "You know you're going to be compared [with them] for the rest of your life. You grow up and get over it, and you love your family regardless."

But Elizabeth has also claimed she doesn't like some of the attention that comes with being a Hollywood actress.

She explained: "I won't go to certain restaurants because I don't want to be photographed."

And while movie premieres and photo shoots are an integral part of her working life, Elizabeth doesn't relish the glare of the cameras.

In fact, Elizabeth insisted she loathes the challenge of squeezing her curvaceous figure into a dress for the red carpet.

She revealed: "The clothes we're expected to fit into aren't sizes; they're samples. They're not made for chicks with boobs, so I'm very self-conscious about having them. "I have fun choosing an outfit for my best friend's wedding, but not [something] I'm going to be judged in."

Mickey Huang joins the 118 family…for a day

The 118 family hosted a very special guest in their kopitiam yesterday – Taiwanese veteran host, Mickey Huang, popped by for a cameo.

He specially made arrangements for his flight to Beijing to depart in the afternoon, giving him ample time to wrap up filming before heading for his next job.

In case you’re wondering, he arrived in Singapore on Saturday (March 18) to host the SPD Charity Show 2017 on Sunday night alongside Lee Teng and Quan Yi Fong.

Speaking to Toggle in one of the VIP suites next to the studios prior to filming, Mickey was all smiles during our 30-minute chat, first telling us about his role in the long-form drama (he will be playing none other than himself), chuckling about how he was “glad to know that the production crew looked after me well by not giving me too many lines.”

“When I first received the offer, I didn’t know what my role would be yet but I was relieved to find out that I would be playing myself,” the 44-year-old quipped. I received the script about 10 days ago and looked through it – the number of lines that they gave me were just enough for me – so I’m really glad!”

Athena Chu on love and relationships

Hong Kong actress-singer Athena Chu recently guested on variety show Ace VS Ace, where she spoke about her views on relationships. “Love boldly, even if you fall and end up covered in blood, with all your bones broken, it’s fine,” the 45-year-old shared.

She then went on to quote an idiom by Chinese philosopher Sun Zi, “Only when one is confronted with the prospect of death, then he will fight for his life.”

Athena’s ambiguous statement was taken by many to be referring to her previous relationship of three years with Hong Kong director Stephen Chow.

Athena had caught Stephen cheating on her and harboured a grudge against the 54-year-old ever since then.

Additionally, Athena shared her secret to maintaining her youthful looks. “If you find yourself looking prettier every time you look into the mirror, then you’ve found the right partner for you,” she laughed. “If you’ve found the wrong person,”

Athena added, “Then you have to let go”.

The topic then naturally turned to her husband, the lead guitarist of Hong Kong rock band Beyond, Paul Wong.

Athena tearfully revealed that he had once told her that she had “taught him how to love,” and even shared, “As long as he’s standing on stage, I know that he’s singing for me”.

George Clooney surprises elderly fan on her birthday

George Clooney surprised an elderly fan on her 87th birthday.

The 55-year-old actor paid a visit to Pat Adams, a resident at the Sunrise Sonning Retirement and Assisted Living Facility in Reading, Berkshire, South East England, to celebrate her special day on Sunday (19.03.17), after she had told staff members how fond she was of the silver fox.

A colleague at the residential home shared a picture of Pat with her idol on their official Facebook account, which was captioned: "The lady in the picture, loves George Clooney and mentions every day how she would love to meet him, especially as he lives so near to where I work. "So letters have been sent asking would it be possible for her dream to come true. (sic)." And the 'Ocean's Eleven' star made sure not to come empty handed, and bought a card and a bouquet of flowers to give to Pat, which made the visit "extra special".

The post continued: "What was extra special it was her Birthday in the week. He bought a card and a lovely bunch of flowers (sic)."

Another worker at the centre, Malcolm Hague, also took to social media to share the news.

Alongside the picture of the American hunk and Pat, which was posted on his Twitter account, he wrote: "Special visitor for Pat @SianHammer @SunriseSrUK @SandsAnge #dreamscometrue (sic)." George's appearance even came as a shock to some of the staff who had not organised the visit.

One care worker posted on Facebook: "He popped in today, while I was on shift. We didn't know he was coming! "I answered the door, lucky I hadn't diverted calls on the Dec phone, as someone else could have answered it!!!! (sic)."

George and his wife Amal, 39, have started to slowly settle into their home in the UK ahead of the arrival of their twins later this year.

Bella Heathcote engaged

Bella Heathcote has got engaged to her long-term partner Andrew Dominik.

The 'Fifty Shades Darker' actress showed off her diamond ring in a selfie with showbiz pals Phoebe Tonkin and Lily Collins on Sunday (19.03.17) and a representative for the 29-year-old beauty has since confirmed to PEOPLE magazine that the 49-year-old screenwriter popped the question.

Alongside the picture of the three actresses, Bella wrote: "thanks for being born @lilyjcollins @phoebejtonkin (sic)" The 'Neon Demon' star was also reportedly spotted wearing the sparkler at a Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival event in February.

Details of how Andrew proposed and when they plan on tying the knot are yet to be revealed. Andrew, who is 20 years Bella's senior, has been dating the Australian star for six years.

Prior to his relationship with the brunette beauty, Andrew was engaged to 'Prison Break' star Robin Tunney, however they broke up in 2010.

The engagement may come as a surprise as insiders said previously Bella wanted to find a boyfriend who doesn't work in the movie industry.

Last year when she was single, the source said: "She wants to hook up with a guy who is unrelated to Hollywood in any way. "She is all ready to start a serious relationship, but she has decided that she would only see normal guys who want to stay away from all the hustle and bustle of Tinsel Town. And she means it! Several of her former boyfriends were from the show business.

They were either actors or movie makers and not a single one of her relationship lasted.

So now, she wants to give love another shot but this time she is determined to date someone who can bring some normalcy into her life and not date her just because she is famous."

Jolin Tsai rules out reunion with Vivian Dawson

Chances of a reunion happening between ex-lovers Jolin Tsai and Vivian Dawson, who dated for six years and broke up three months ago, is close to zero.

At Japanese beauty brand Shiseido’s 60th anniversary event yesterday, reporters put Jolin’s love life in the spotlight again when they asked if she has any intentions to get back with her ex-boyfriend.

Although she refused to formally address the topic, the Taiwanese singer, who was visibly embarrassed by the question, replied, “I think it’s better to not comment on this matter, as it’d make headlines regardless of my replies.” Jolin, however, indirectly ruled out the possibility of a reunion and said that she has “never” gotten back with an ex-boyfriend, in reply to a reporter’s “gossipy question.”

At the press conference, Jolin also shared that she has learned how to give herself less stress after succumbing to a bad cold in December last year.

She was so ill she could not get out of bed and had to rely on willpower to fulfil a work appearance for a commercial event. “I’ve learned how to forgive myself… to go easy on myself… when you hold on too tightly you tend to end up hurting yourself,” she said cryptically.

Reporters tried to dig further and asked the pop princess if her newfound enlightenment was applied to her recent breakup.

Jolin shook her head and denied them of another headline-making story, saying, “[I] don’t have much thoughts about relationships.”

Wilber Pan becomes labelmates with Jolin Tsai

Taiwanese singer Wilber Pan became a free agent in 2015, after his contract with music label Universal Music Taiwan expired after 13 years.

Although many other labels approached Wilber to sign him at that time, all the offers inexplicably fell through.

Recently, new rumours have surfaced reporting that the 36-year-old has signed with Warner Music Taiwan, making him labelmates with fellow Taiwanese singers Jolin Tsai and Kenji Wu.

Yesterday (March 19), Warner Music Taiwan’s chairman Sam Chen confirmed the rumours, revealing in a statement that Wilber has indeed signed with his label. “According to what I’ve heard, many different record labels were vying for Wilber, but our creative team finally manage to persuade him (to join us). Wilber will be bringing in NT$500 million (approximately S$23 million) for our company yearly,” he said.

As the label already has three male singers – JJ Lin, Jam Hsiao and Kenji Wu – under its wings, Sam reassured everyone that even with the addition of Wilber, everyone will still be treated equally. Sam also revealed that he hopes to organise a world tour for Wilber in the days to come.

When asked to comment on the matter, Wilber would only say that he “relied on his instincts”.

He shared that he did not ask for the opinion of his good friend, Jolin Tsai, before joining the company, and that he had discussed his contract three times with Sam before signing on the dotted line.

Thandie Newton bemoans lack of diversity on British TV

Thandie Newton believes there is a lack of roles for black actors in the UK because of Brits' obsession with period dramas.

The 44-year-old actress was born in London, England, but has pursued her career in the US, where she claims to have found on-screen roles easier to come by.

Explaining why she works in the States rather than in England, Thandie said: "I love being here but I can't work. "I can't do 'Downton Abbey', can't be in 'Victoria', can't be in 'Call the Midwife'. Well, I could, but I don't want to play someone who's being racially abused. I'm not interested in that, don't want to do it." Thandie bemoaned the lack of diversity in casting for British TV shows.

She said: "I've just quoted shows that are beloved by people and there's no diversity in the casting. It's just a bum-out."

And Thandie doesn't imagine the landscape will change in the foreseeable future, because period dramas remain hugely popular in the UK.

She told the Sunday Times magazine: "There just seems to be a desire for stuff about the royal family, stuff from the past, which is understandable, but it just makes it slim pickings for people of colour." Thandie, who was born to a British father and Zimbabwean mother, also revealed she has been forced to "struggle against racism and sexism" to establish herself as a star.

She explained: "I'm talented at what I do but I've had to struggle against racism and sexism. But I'm glad, in a way, that I survived and overcame."

In January, meanwhile, fellow British actor Idris Elba - who also left the UK in order to become a star in America - gave a speech in which he urged the British government to promote greater racial diversity on screen.

In his speech, the 'Luther' actor said: "My agent and I, we'd get scripts and we were always asked to read the 'black male' character. Or 'the athletic type.' "But when a script called for a 'black male,' it wasn't describing a character. It was a describing a skin colour. A white man - or a caucasian - was described as 'a man with a twinkle in his eye.' "My eyes may be dark, but they definitely twinkle! (Ask the Mrs...) And I was like, 'I wanna play the character with a twinkle in his eyes!'"

Brian McFadden and Kerry Katona's daughter moving to Ireland

Brian McFadden and Kerry Katona's oldest daughter is moving to Ireland.

The former Westlife singer currently lives in Lancashire with his girlfriend Danielle Parkinson, while his ex-wife - with whom he has Molly, 15, and Lilly-Sue, 14 - is based in East Sussex with spouse George Kay, their daughter Dylan-Jorge, two, and her other kids Heidi, 10, and Max, eight.

When Brian sees his daughters, he usually takes them to Dublin so they can see his mum and dad too, and he has now revealed Molly will be moving in with her grandparents in September in order to focus on her studies without distractions.

Brian said: "Mostly we go back to Ireland because my mum and dad live there. "My oldest is going to school in Dublin in September, so she's probably going to live with my mum and dad. "I think it'll be easier for Molly to concentrate on her exams there. "It's going to make things harder now for us all to be together, but you have to make sacrifices."

While the 36-year-old singer is currently living with Danielle in Rochdale, the couple - who met late last year - are unsure where they will eventually set up home.

He told OK! magazine: "I'm renting a home in Ireland and I've moved out of my house in London... "We have no long-term plans at the moment [on where to live]. We'll just have to wait and see how everything goes this year."

Though the couple haven't been dating for long, they are open to getting married and having children together. Asked how she feels about marriage and babies, Danielle, 35, said: "It doesn't scare me.

I can only see myself being with Brian so that would be a really amazing thing. I'd be more than happy to do that." Brian added: "I'd definitely love to have more kids in the future."

Cecilia Cheung’s mother works as a cashier

Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung’s mother, Davies Shally has been spotted working as a cashier at a cake shop.

Cecilia has been single-handedly raising her two sons, Lucas, 9, and Quintus, 6, after her high-profile divorce from Hong Kong singer-actor Nicholas Tse in 2011.

According to reports, the actress has put her career on the back burner to focus on raising her children.

The family of three even moved to Singapore for a short period of time to allow her sons to grow up in a more conducive environment, before moving back to Hong Kong last year.

As a result, Cecilia’s earnings have significantly reduced and she is reportedly unable to financially support her mother and family.

Thus, Cecilia’s mother took on a job as a cashier in an attempt to relieve her daughter’s financial burden.

The job, which requires Cecilia’s mother to work from 11 in the morning to 8 at night, does not pay much, but is enough for her to get by.

Previously, Cecilia had also invested in a couple of businesses that her mother and younger brother ran, which ranged from a wine shop to a restaurant, although the businesses eventually closed down.

Wallace Huo has plans for a second child

Chinese actor Wallace Huo is enjoying fatherhood so much, he’s considering having a second child with his wife, Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin.

The 37-year-old, who is known for being stoic, broke into a smile when the topic of a recent interview turned to his daughter, nicknamed “Little Angel.” Wallace even revealed that he will speak in falsetto when communicating to his daughter to make her smile.

The new dad also shared that nowadays, whenever he gets together with his friends, the topic will invariably turn to his daughter.

However, due to his heavy work load, Wallace shared he doesn’t get much time together with his daughter. Like most dads, he tries to help out whenever he’s free, from bathing the baby to changing her diaper.

When asked if the couple have plans for a second child, Wallace let on that he will “decrease his work load bit by bit in the future,” and eventually consider having a second child then. Wallace tied the knot with Ruby in Bali last August.

The couple remained fiercely private about their personal life, especially Ruby’s pregnancy, after the wedding. The birth of their daughter in January was only announced days after delivery.

Mads Mikkelsen walked out of Fantastic Four audition

Mads Mikkelsen walked out of his 'Fantastic Four' audition because it felt "wrong".

The 51-year-old Danish actor has a string of hit movies under his belt including 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story', Marvel Cinematic Universe movie 'Doctor Strange' and 2006 James Bond flick 'Casino Royale' in which he played villain Le Chiffre opposite Daniel Craig.

But even though he has a stellar filmography, Mikkelsen has had his fair share of bad auditions including 20th Century Fox's 2015 reboot of the superhero franchise lifted from the pages of Marvel Comics.

In an interview with ShortList magazine he admitted storming out of his 'Fantastic Four' audition, spilling: "I think I said, 'I can't do it. It's not about you. I'm sorry, this is wrong.' "

Fans had put Mikkelsen as their top choice to play the role of Victor von Doom (aka Doctor Doom), but Mikkelsen dodged a bullet as the movie - which focuses on the superhuman squad of Mr. Fantastic, The Human Torch, The Invisible Woman and The Thing - was savaged by critics.

And his 'Fantastic Four' experience is not the only audition that didn't quite go to plan for Mikkelsen, as he admits he has had "tons" of bad auditions.

He explained: "We've all been there. We all show up and it's a little office room with a desk and they want you to do a scene where you have two lines - maybe even just a 'Bleurgh!' or 'Get Back!' - and you're hiding behind a palm tree that's not there. It's like, 'Guys, couldn't you have picked a different scene? This is mad.' You feel like an idiot." One role in a superhero movie he did land was portraying the main villain Kaecilius in 'Doctor Strange' opposite Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character whom he insists was a complete "gentleman". Speaking about working opposite the 'Sherlock' star, Mikkelsen said: "He's the hardest-working man in the business. He's always playing some kind of specialist, and he always takes his time and makes a great effort to understand it and master it as much as he can."

James Gunn confirms Guardians of the Galaxy 3

James Gunn has confirmed plans for 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3'.

The 46-year-old American screenwriter, director and producer is busy promoting his upcoming horror film 'The Belko Experiment' - a film penned by himself - and has just put the finishing touches to the eagerly anticipated 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' which will hit cinemas in May. Gunn - who has directed and written both 'Guardians...' films - has spilled that there will be third outing for Chris Pratt and co.

In an interview with Complex, Gunn was asked whether there was any plans for 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3', to which he replied: "There will be a 'Guardians 3', that's for sure. We're trying to figure it out. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do really, that's all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing. You know, I'm going to make another big movie; is it the Guardians or something else? I'm just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks."

Before the plot of the third film is even figured out, fans are keen to see what happens in the sequel - which sees the return of Pratt as Star Lord Peter Quill, Vin Diesel as the voice of Baby Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer and Karen Gillan as Nebula.

But Gunn is remaining tight-lipped of the story, teasing: "It's a very self-enclosed story, so I deal with the Marvel guys every day on where we're going forward, but basically the story of 'Vol. 2' is about the Guardians and it has no connection to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and none were ever mandated. So where it ends up is what anybody would have to deal with after that."

He said that one of the biggest misconceptions about working within the MCU is that people "overestimate" the amount of overall planning but in fact, he found the project his most rewarding to-date.

He said: "At the end of the day, we're telling a long-form story that has many different moving parts and within those stories there's a lot of freedom to do what you want. And I've been lucky in that the most creatively fulfilling freeing experience I've ever had making a film has been on 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' - without a doubt. Because at the end of the day any choice was mine, if there's ever a disagreement we go in my direction. The entire story was written by me alone in a room back in August 2014, and it stayed that way from the very beginning."

The returning cast are also joined by newcomers Kurt Russell - who plays Quill's father Ego - and Sylvester Stallone, who has an as-yet unknown role.

Annie Yi defends husband against accusations of improper parenting

Annie Yi and her Chinese actor husband Qin Hao have been the subject of close scrutiny from netizens since the pair announced that they would be getting married, with their large age gap and Annie’s previous marriage to Harlem Yu being some of the reasons for their backlash.

He is 39 this year, while Annie has just turned 48.

The pair welcomed a daughter, nicknamed Little Rice Grain, last July and have since expressed their wish to have another child together.

The family of three was recently spotted out and about through pictures uploaded on their social media platforms.

One photo in particular caught the attention of netizens – a snap of Qin Hao carrying his daughter. Netizens went up in arms over the photo, which they claimed he was “posing for only to look good” while completely disregarding Little Rice Grain’s safety and comfort.

They commented that he was carrying her in the wrong way and that she looked to be uncomfortable in her position. Annie quickly clarified, “Little Rice Grain doesn’t like traditional baby carriers where the child is carried in front.

Whenever we try to do that, she keeps struggling (until we take her out of it). This is the position that she likes the most, which is being held at the side like a little plane. Regardless of how we start of carrying her, we always end up in this position.”

She emphasised that her daughter is now old enough to struggle when she is in discomfort and would not stay still if she did not like the way she was being carried.

Annie tied the knot with Qin Hao in March 2015 and gave birth to her daughter, Milly Qin, nicknamed Little Rice Grain, in July 2016.

She was married to Harlem Yu for nine years before going separate ways in 2009. They have a son, Harrison Yu, 15, together.

Ruco Chan, Nancy Wu the only couple not ‘broken up’ by TVB

TVB participated in the annual FILMART (HKTDC Hong Kong International Film & TV Market) fair, where companies usually showcase their projects for the year ahead.

In attendance were many of TVB’s celebs who are the stars of the station’s upcoming dramas.

The star-studded guest list included Wayne Lai, Moses Chan, Kristal Tin and Eliza Sam. Notably, at least three couples were also present – namely, Ruco Chan and Nancy Wu, Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong and Tony Hung and Natalie Tong.

Kenneth Ma and Jacqueline Wong, who are currently embroiled in dating rumours, were also in attendance.

Almost all the couples seemed to have been instructed by their managers to leave no room for gossip, as they rejected all requests for interviews with their “other halves” and were even spotted standing far away from one another during the group photocall.

The only couple that was safe from being separated was Ruco and Nancy, who star in upcoming action crime-thriller drama The Unholy Alliance.

During their interviews, Nancy named a travel programme as a project that she would love to work on in the coming year, while Ruco jokingly added that he will “go wherever she wants to go!”

While the couples were not spotted together at the event, the media still took the opportunity to grill the respective actors about their love lives during interviews with them. Kenneth Ma, who left the event early, had his absence explained by rumoured girlfriend Jacqueline Wong, who let on that “he had to rush back to work.”

When probed about their dating rumours, she shared that they are still at the stage of getting to know one another and are just friends.

As for Tony Hung, he was quizzed on the reason behind his sudden reluctance to talk about his relationship with Natalie Tong.

Assuring the media that their romance is not on the rocks, he chuckled, “I want to protect her a bit more – she’s mentioned that I tend to say things without giving it much thought beforehand, so I decided that it’s better to be more prudent.

It’s probably a good idea for us to be a little more under-the-radar (about our personal lives).”

Jamie Lee Curtis' new pet pooch

Jamie Lee Curtis adopted a dog to combat her lonely feelings.

The 'Scream Queens' star has been keeping large rescue dogs for three decades but decided to adopt little Runi - a one-year-old terrier-poodle mix - when her children flew the nest.

She said: "I have missed a small, warm connection. Both my children are adults - my daughter's 30, my son is 21. I'm married 32 years. I'm alone a lot of the day. "And I realised I had this very emotional response to wanting another connection dog that was mine, who was my dog." And the 58-year-old actress - who has Annie, 30, and Thomas, 21, with her husband Christopher Guest - says Runi is already part of the family.

She added to People magazine: "I had a small white dog that I rescued 35 years ago. His name was Clark the No Bark Dog and he looked very much like Runi.

My criteria were small, because I didn't want another big dog, soft, because I am super tactile, and quiet. "He's just been so unbelievably sweet and loving.

You give love, you give care and warmth, tenderness, fun, toys, safety, and they give love. It is that connection. It is this reciprocity of love."

Meanwhile, Jamie previously claimed Hollywood is "a very cruel business." She said: "It's a very cruel business.

It's humiliating to see the media frenzy that occurs when somebody gets older and they don't look the way they used to look. I want to make sure I leave on my own terms.

I don't want to be punished for the natural evolution of the human being. "[My father] used to walk into a restaurant and preen and pose.

The public attention was very important; I don't need it. I'm recognisable, sure. But I have a quiet life."

Actor Ben Affleck said on Tuesday that he had completed treatment for alcohol addiction, saying he wanted to "be the best father I can be."

Affleck, 44, said on his Facebook page that his treatment was the "first of many steps" toward his recovery and specifically thanked his "co-parent," wife Jennifer Garner, whom he separated from in 2015. "I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront," the "Batman" actor wrote. "I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step," he added.

Hollywood A-list couple Affleck and Garner, who have three children together, announced plans to divorce in July 2015 after 10 years of marriage.

Affleck, who has won two Oscars for his writing and producing work, will next be seen reprising the titular superhero role in "The Batman" movie.

Stephen’s application to immigrate was turned down after links to the mob were revealed, and Christy hinted that she could “help him obtain a Canadian passport” as she is a Canadian by birth.

She was immediately rejected. Upon revealing the proposal to the media, Christy chuckled that she was extremely dejected after the incident and has yet to figure out why he said no to her back then.

Camila Cabello: I'm a hopeless romantic

Camila Cabello is a "hopeless romantic".

The 20-year-old singer - whose first major relationship was with pop singer Austin Mahone - is keen to find a boyfriend, but admitted she thinks about romantic relationships in a different way than other people. The ex-Fifth Harmony star shared: "Love is the most important thing to me in the world. I'm such a hopeless romantic."

Camila displayed her affection towards Austin via social media before their split in 2014. And the Cuban-American star has admitted to becoming more guarded about her personal life as she has gotten older. She told the March/April issue of Latina magazine: "Social media's weird because people can get too caught up in it.

I understand, though, because I was a fangirl." This comes shortly after Camila revealed she has been taking dating advice from Taylor Swift.

The 27-year-old singer-songwriter has been involved in numerous high-profile relationships over recent years, having dated the likes of Harry Styles, John Mayer and Tom Hiddleston - and Camila thinks she's the perfect person to turn to for advice.

She shared: "We talk about love a lot and if I ever have any questions about love or if there's anything that I'm going through at the time, whether it's with a boy or with a friend, she's a very good person to ask those kind of questions."

Meanwhile, Camila previously revealed that one of the reasons she decided to quit Fifth Harmony to pursue a solo career was because she felt the band were too sexualised. Camila - who starred in the group alongside Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui - said she felt frustrated with efforts to make the 'Work From Home' hitmakers raunchy.

She explained: "Especially with being a girl group, there's been a lot of times where people have tried to sexualise us to just get more attention. Unfortunately, sex sells."

Selina Jen’s father opens up about daughter’s burn accident

Taiwanese singer-actress Selina Jen often posts pictures of her family online, showing off their close relationship.

However, things were not always rosy on the home front, with the 35-year-old once sharing that she used to dread returning home when she was younger, as her father was very strict.

The singer-actress even revealed that she was once beaten with a tape measure. Recently, Selina’s father, who rarely guests on television shows, appeared on Familiar Taste, where he divulged that the one thing he regretted the most was hitting Selina with that tape measure.

He recalled that he had used so much strength that the tape measure eventually broke. Later, Selina’s mother went into her room to comfort Selina. After her daughter fell asleep, Selina’s mother came out and told him, “Your daughter just told me that you haven’t hugged her in a long time.”

That simple phrase affected Selina’s father so much that from that day on, he never laid a hand on her again. In related news, Selina’s father opened up regarding Selina’s accident seven years ago, where she suffered burns all over her body due to an accident while filming.

According to him, the family were prepared to lose Selina and they had already thought of a Chinese phrase to engrave on her urn to express their “regrets” and “gratefulness.”

Inspired by the phrase, the word “gratefulness” has become Selina’s father’s mantra today. Now, he doesn’t wish for his daughters to achieve super-stardom, all he wants is for the two of them to be healthy and safe.

Selina suffered third-degree burns on 50 percent of her body when an accident happened during filming in 2010.

She returned to showbiz almost a year later, and has remained positive about her accident since then. The 35-year-old has a younger sister, actress-model Lorene Jen.

Ruby Lin celebrates Vicki Zhao’s birthday

Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin updated her Weibo account yesterday (March 12) to wish her good friend, Chinese actress Vicki Zhao a happy birthday.

The two actresses, who were born in the same year, first got acquainted when they acted alongside each other in the wildly popular drama My Fair Princess in 1998.

The good friends starred in the sequel of My Fair Princess and continued to act alongside each other in the 2001 drama Romance in the Rain, further cementing their friendship.

To celebrate Vicki’s birthday yesterday, Ruby uploaded a picture of them together, captioning it, “Baby, happy birthday, love you forever.” Vicki later returned Ruby’s confession of love, replying, “Love you, love you, love you forever, thank you my good friend.”

A couple of eagle-eyed fans discovered that Ruby uploaded the same selfie last year for Vicki’s birthday and teased her for “being lazy.”

SNSD's Yuri spills embarrassing secret about Seohyun

Girls' Generation (SNSD) members Seohyun and Yuri were invited to the promotional event for a shampoo brand and demonstrated the dance moves in the commercial music video that they participated in.

Yuri pointed out that while most dance moves would focus on the movement of the waist and legs, this dance focused the head’s movement to emphasise the quality of their hair. Seohyun said she had always wanted to appear in a shampoo commercial and she felt even happier to be able to work with Yuri.

When asked about their thoughts on hair care, she said both men and women needed to take care of their hair because good hair can match all styles of makeup and outfits.

When asked if they knew any secrets about each other since they had been working together for so many years, Yuri revealed that they had been roommates at the beginning of their career.

She said Seohyun often used the bathroom for too long and she would give up waiting and use the bathroom in someone else’s room.

Upon hearing this, Seohyun became embarrassed and gently hit Yuri’s shoulder sheepishly.

As it was the 10th anniversary of their band Girls’ Generation, Yuri said she missed their Asian tour, while Seohyun shared there would be special activities coming up, but would reveal no more.

They both hoped to appear in an action movie made in Hong Kong, and Seohyun wanted to play a character with a lively and bright personality.

Anne-Marie best friends with Jessie J

Anne-Marie has been best friends with Jessie J since they were youngsters.

The 'Alarm' hitmaker starred alongside the brunette beauty in the West End play 'Whistle Down the Wind' when she was 12 years old and, although they lost contact for a while, they've now grown close to one another again over the past few years.

Speaking on The Sun newspaper's Bizarre Editor Dan Wootton's Facebook Page on Monday (13.03.17), she explained: "We were really close friends when we were kids.

And then, obviously, she was doing her singing thing and I was just do karate so we kind of just went our own ways. And then when I started getting back into it, then we got back in contact so now we're like good friends again. She's just told me to be selfish sometimes.

There was one time she told me to get the window seat on the plane. She said: 'Don't care, you just got to get the window seat so you can sleep.' So yeah, she's taught me stuff." The 25-year-old singer is also close friends with Ed Sheeran and will be joining him on his tour later this year, which she is convinced will be full of "wild parties."

Asked what the most wild night out they had together was, she said: "The first night I spent with him, we literally spent watching 'Game of Thrones' and eating fajitas so that's wild.

I think every night we spend are just wild. One EMAs night we all just spent in his hotel room and that got pretty wild. I got pretty drunk and I was knocking."

The blonde beauty is known for pouring her heart out in her songs and has admitted 'Alarm', 'Ciao Adios' and yet-to-be released 'Then' are about the same ex-boyfriend. She explained: "Luckily in the songwriting sense and unlucky in the love life sense, I've had bad boyfriend. 'Alarm' and 'Ciao Adios' are about the same person, yeah.

But the other ones are about other horrible ones. "No [she doesn't have a boyfriend]! I'm too busy to be honest. Who needs a man? I don't. I don't think I'll even attract anyone with songs like that, I'll be single for a while."

Brie Larson: Kong cast bonded without WiFi

Brie Larson and her 'Kong: Skull Island' castmates grew to be really close because they were shooting in locations without WiFi.

The Oscar-winning actress loved shooting the part of the blockbuster - which also stars the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John C.

Reilly and John Goodman - in Vietnam as the remote location meant the cast were forced to interact more than they would have done elsewhere.

Speaking to the new issue of HELLO! magazine, she said: "Vietnam in particular is special because it has never been captured on film before in this way.

We tried to get nature in its raw form, its wildness and show the diversity of the island.

It did [bring us closer]. There is no self-service or WiFi when you're so deep in the jungle, it's too far away to go back to your trailer so you're just all in a tent together.

I got to be back in touch with nature again, it's not usual to do that at work." And when filming moved to Australia, the group enjoyed a lot of fun outings, including having a Queensland theme park closed specifically for their use. Brie - who along with her co-stars also filmed in Hawaii - said: "We did a lot of fun things on weekends, like going to Lazer Tag.

We went go-karting lone time, but one of my favourites was when Movie World closed for us and we got to go on the roller coasters as many times in a row as we wanted."

The 27-year-old beauty enjoyed go-karting because she won one race, and maintains she only lost the second because she was at a disadvantage. She said: "I did win first place go-karting and then in the next race I didn't.

In the larger race I got a c**ppy car - just so everyone is clear. It had nothing to do with my skills, it was just that I got a faulty car ... But I'm OK about it. I'm not mad.

I should have won but it's fine. I think all my years of playing 'Mario Kart' helped. I was focused." Tom - who plays former SAS Captain James Conrad - previously revealed that Brie is a great go-kart raced but he was useless behind the wheel.

He said: "We're from different places in the world, thrown together in the valley of a dormant volcano - you get close pretty quickly. We bonded off set.

Brie organized weekends of activities, we'd go go-karting - I was terrible. Brie's actually really good at it."

Jolin Tsai brushes off questions on ex’s new relationship

Jolin Tsai and Vivian Dawson ended their six-year relationship last December due to personality differences.

Vivian was recently reported to be dating BY2’s Miko, which led to Jolin being questioned about his rumoured new romance at her latest event.

When she was first asked about the possible romance, she responded, “I’ve seen the news as well; making friends is a good thing (…) We’re also good friends who keep in contact.” Unsatisfied with her response, Taiwanese media probed further, asking if she would send her congratulations to the couple.

The 36-year-old shot back, “Why are you asking such a silly question?”, effectively putting an end to questions about her ex. At the event, she also shared about her newfound love for Korean actor Gong Yoo.

She quipped that she was considering stealing a copy of his schedule when he heads to Taiwan in April for his fan meeting.

While sharing that Gong Yoo is her ideal type, she chuckled when she added that she’s “not sure if he’ll give off the same vibe as he does on screen.”

Ruby Lin set to work on first drama since becoming a mother

Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin is all set to make her comeback to the acting scene after giving birth to her bundle of joy in January this year.

The 41-year-old will be the female lead in an upcoming drama titled My Boy (unofficial translation), with filming scheduled to start in May this year. Ruby will also be doubling up as the producer for the drama.

As the actress’s previous drama, The Way We Were, which she also produced and starred in, was a commercial hit, Ruby admitted that she did feel the pressure to produce an equally well-received drama this time round.

However, the pressure was actually “pressure from myself, not the public”. Ruby also revealed that when she heard the script was written by award-winning scriptwriter Mag Hsu, she agreed to star in the drama without even reviewing the script. She shared that she has since met up with her co-star, Taiwanese actor Derek Chang, twice.

The duo will play a couple in a May-December relationship, with Ruby remarking that Derek was a good fit for the role, as he is someone who “can appear boyish and manly at the same time”.

As for Derek, the 24-year-old laughingly shared that he was at the dentist when he received the news that he got the role. At that time, he couldn’t help but to yell in happiness. “After watching Apple in Your Eye [which was written by Mag Hsu], I’ve always wanted to act in a drama written by her.

But I never thought that my dream would come true so soon, [so] I’m super happy,” the actor shared. Derek also sang the praises of Ruby, describing the actress as “someone with a good personality and gentle”. He admitted that he felt nervous about working with Ruby, as he had never thought that he’d be able to act alongside her.
