Andy Lau promises to make full recovery

Andy Lau has promised his fans that he will make a full recovery soon, less than two weeks after he sustained multiple fractures in his pelvic area, along with tendon and muscle injuries after a bad fall from a horse.

With Chinese New Year falling shortly after his injury, Andy’s annual gathering with fans, which was slated to take place on January 30 this year, was canceled as the Heavenly King is still in hospital. Apart from apologising for the event cancellation, the notice also promised that “Andy will listen to all of you so that you don’t have to worry about him!”

His close friends, director Peter Chan and his wife, actress Sandra Ng, paid him a visit on the eve of Chinese New Year and commented after their visit that “he’s still very handsome”. They were, however, unable to provide further details on his current condition, which has been kept tightly under wraps.

Although he could not be physically with his fans this year, Andy made sure to leave a message for his fans on his official site. “Everyone, it’s the start of a new year! I’ve received every single bit of love from all of you; let’s have our gathering on a spiritual level instead this year!” He continued, “Trust in me that I’ll be able to greet all of you and have fun in the pink of health very soon! I wish everyone health and happiness in the Year of the Rooster!”

It was previously reported that Andy will have to be hospitalised for up to two months and go through nine months of rehabilitation to make a full recovery.

Hannah Quinlivan pregnancy rumours escalate

Is she, or is she not? That is the question on netizens’ minds as Hannah Quinlivan continues to keep mum on her most recent bout of pregnancy rumours. She was recently reported to have requested for an extended period of leave from work and has greatly reduced her number of public appearances, leading to speculation that she is gearing up to be a mother for the second time.

A picture of Hannah, along with husband Jay Chou and their daughter, Hathaway, was uploaded onto Jay’s social media platforms on January 28, which had many fans commenting that the family of three looked adorable even from the back.

However, some took special notice at Hannah’s attire in the picture, which was of a much looser fit than what she usually wears. Her outfit fueled speculation that she is pregnant, with some believing that the couple could be welcoming a bundle of joy in the Year of the Rooster.

Jay and Hannah got married in January 2015 and welcomed their daughter in July of the same year. They have remained fiercely protective of Hathaway and have not revealed a photo of her face to the public. They have also kept her out of the media eye to give her as much privacy as possible during her growing up years.

Gail Porter opens up on financial plight

Gail Porter used to stuff her unopened bills under her pillow when she was experiencing mental health problems.

The 45-year-old television presenter - who declared herself bankrupt over the weekend - has acknowledged her money woes started when she was sectioned six years ago following a mental breakdown because she ignored so many warning letters from companies asking her for payment.

Speaking on ITV's 'Loose Women' on Monday (30.01.17), she said: "You can't pay your bills because a doctor is looking after you. I didn't open them. The bills kept coming in and I'd had a breakdown and I'd lost my mum, there were lots of things going on in my life so I put them under a pillow. My problem was I kept running away from everything. I was an idiot and I kept running."

Gail's financial situation got so bad that she resorted to sleeping on a park bench in Hampstead Heath, London, because she couldn't afford to rent a property.

She explained: "It wasn't recent but yeah. It was ages and ages ago and I couldn't afford anywhere so I just hung out on Hampstead Heath park on the bench.

"My daughter Honey didn't know at the time. She is 14 now though, so she knows.
I've got an amazing relationship with my daughter, me and my ex-husband get on great."

Gail's income started to get less from 2005 when she was forced to give up modelling because she lost her hair completely after she developed the autoimmune condition alopecia totalis.

The Scottish star - who was previously married Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave - now lives off just £200 a week after she's paid rent on her flat.

Her current earnings are a far cry from what she used to bank as just 16 years ago she was hosting 'The Big Breakfast' and reporting for travel show 'Wish You Were Here'.

She also presenter 'Top of the Pops' back in the day, was a regular in the men's magazines and even had her naked body projected onto the Houses of Parliament by FHM.

Gail has also appeared on 'Celebrity Big Brother' and presented ghost-hunting show 'Dead Famous' on Living TV - now known as Sky Living.

Bebe Rexha has 'never' spoken to Eminem

Bebe Rexha has "never" spoken to Eminem.

The 27-year-old singer has admitted despite penning the song 'The Monster', which she "had to" give away to the 44-year-old rapper who collaborated with Rihanna on the track, the pair have never exchanged words not even once.

Speaking openly about her career in a Facebook Live chat with The Sun newspaper, the blonde beauty said: "I have never spoken to Eminem, I have never even spoken to him once. That's the way the music business works, it's very interesting."

And Bebe has admitted although she had to pass on her creative piece to another musician who would have a bigger success with the track, she was adamant her voice would still feature on the single even in the background because she was precious about her work and felt "selfish" towards her own artistry.

She explained: "Rihanna's voice is on it, but I want to keep one part. I just turned 20, when you're younger you are selfish, and I see now that song has opened so many doors for me. At that time I didn't have a record deal. I sang that song to record labels and they said 'Monsters under my bed, voices inside my head. Yeah right, nobody is ever going to want to listen to that. That sounds like a flop to us.' Literally I had someone tell me that. So, I think at that time I had no choice but to give the song away, because I had, number one, no money and no record deal."

However, Bebe - real name Bleta Rexha - has admitted she wouldn't be adverse to working with the 'Slim Shady' hitmaker or the 28-year-old 'Work' vocalist because she has "a lot" of respect for the pair.

She said: "I have a lot of respect for Eminem and Rihanna, because they're both very real in their music. Even though it's popular music. I've been in the music business for ten years now, but to the world I'm relatively new. It's awesome how people come to my shows and they know about my story and how I was a songwriter at first."

Angelababy spotted out and about after labour

It has only been eight days since the birth of her first child, but Chinese actress Angelababy is already out and about, buying goods in preparation for the Chinese New Year festivities.

Dressed in a loose-fitting T-shirt, jacket and mask, the actress was seen arm-in-arm with her mother, shopping for peach blossoms and orchids at a florist. The pair quickly made their purchase and left the premises in less than 30 minutes.

Fans were surprised that the new mother did not abide by the Chinese custom of a month-long confinement after delivery, but were glad that she has recovered well from childbirth.

The 27-year-old actress and husband, Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming, welcomed their first child, nicknamed ‘Little Sponge’, two weeks ago (Jan 16) and was discharged from the hospital two days later.

Pace Wu gifts fiance’s mother with S$1.8 billion crystal dragon

Looks like Taiwanese actress Pace Wu is making bank from her latest business venture. The 38-year-old, who became a shareholder of Excel Development Holdings Limited last November, has reportedly raked in almost HK$2 billion (S$36.4 million) in the last two months and splurged on an expensive gift for her billionaire fiancé, Ji Xiaobo’s mother.

An insider claimed that Pace splashed her earnings on a pair of 50 metre-long crystal dragons, costing HK$10 billion (S$1.8 billion), for the opening of a hotel that Ji Xiaobo’s mother had invested in.

Weighing over 18,000 kg, the pair of luxuriously designed dragon-shaped décor is covered in gold scales and two and a half million Swarovski crystals and was said to be hung on the ceiling of the eight-star resort-hotel in Saipan, an island in the Northern Mariana Islands.

One other notable big-ticket purchase Pace made would be her S$70.2 million luxury apartment, which she purchased fully in cash last September.

Kristen Stewart: I've made a 'million bad movies'

Kristen Stewart has made a "million bad movies".

The 26-year-old actress - who has starred in the likes of 'Twilight', 'Equals' and 'Snow White and the Huntsman' - says it is "rare" that something turns out exactly as she had hoped.

Asked how she would describe herself as a director, she said: "I'm a pretty obsessive person, which is I think entirely necessary. You have to be a little crazy to put yourself through something like that and actually make it happen. I was probably a little bit more controlling than I thought I would have been. My favourite thing in the world is when it feels like something starts to get up and walk itself.

"When something's really good, and it's rare - honestly I've made a million bad movies. Not bad, it's just like sometimes they don't come together in a way that feels miraculous and when they do, it genuinely feels like something is floating and you're all sort of blowing on it to keep it up and it's like, that fully happened. It's so cliché, it feels like super pretentious to say this, but you genuinely feel like this vessel and you're like, 'That was sick, I don't even know what just happened,' and it's just f***ing real."

And the brunette beauty - who has stepped behind the camera for short film 'Come Swim' - issued some advice for other young women wanting to follow in her footsteps.

She added to Refinery29: "Anyone I've met that's doing things for themselves and really compelled to do so, you can't get in their way. There's just no stopping them and I would say, trust that.

"There are people that just desperately see things and just want to explain the beauty of something. If you have that, you f***ing have it. It's the worst advice ever, but just believe in desire. It's the worst f***ing feeling in the world just to want something and deprive yourself of it. Just f***ing do it."

Vogue Williams rules out wedding

Vogue Williams doesn't want to get married again.

The 31-year-old TV presenter split from Brian McFadden in July 2015 after three years of marriage and admitted she is not interested in tying the knot again.

She said: "My mum will kill me for saying this, but I don't think I would. Marriage isn't as important to me as it was before. But if I met someone and getting married was on their agenda, then I'd think about it."

However, she admitted she definitely wants children and is already getting broody.

Vogue told Fabulous magazine: "About a year ago I felt the pressure of being 30 and thought: 'Oh, what am I going to do?' I really want to have kids!' But now there are so many ways to have children. I can have them on my own if I want!"

Vogue briefly dated Billie Piper's ex-husband Laurence Fox earlier this year but revealed that the romance did not work out and they are currently just very close friends.

She said: "We're definitely not more than friends. I'm currently single and very happy. Me and Laurence became close over the last few months. But yeah, we're just friends."

Although she has had some high-profile romances, Vogue insists she would happily date a man who is not in the public eye.

She said: "They have to be funny and easy-going. I definitely go for personality over looks, and they need to like doing fun things because I don't enjoy sitting at home doing nothing.

"I dated someone for six years who wasn't famous. There are some things that they find weird, like when I was modelling and whipping all my clothes off backstage! But if you avoid celeb hotspots, you can have a normal relationship with anyone."

The singer updates her Facebook frequently with pictures of their daily life or past pictures from their vacation to Italy last year. She often speaks about her husband lovingly and shows him affection by calling him “handsome” on her Facebook posts.

A post that Ella penned on Tuesday (Jan 24) was hailed by netizens to be the most moving dedication of all as she recalled a time when she sobbed uncontrollably while discussing the topic of death before bedtime.

She wrote, “We thought of how life would be without each other then we started crying in each other’s arms”. She continued, “Thank you for doting on me and taking care of me. If we do have a next life, I hope we can find each other again”.

Tiffany Hsu, Wang Po-Chieh’s dating rumour resurfaces

Fans hoping to see a reunion between ex-lovebirds Tiffany Hsu and Ethan Ruan, were crushed when the Taiwanese actress was spotted holidaying in Tokyo, Japan last month (Dec 16) with Wang Po-Chieh.

Sharp-eyed netizens also noticed that both the actress and Po-Chieh posted a solo photo of themselves in Tokyo last month, fueling the rumours about them dating.
In response to the speculation of the their relationship status, the actor’s manager explained, “Po-Chieh was indeed in Tokyo last month, but he was filming at a rural village nearby and Tiffany was not part of the cast.”

As the explanation did not deny the pair’s relationship, fans advised the pair to avoid travelling to a touristy spot together. “You guys should have been more careful! There’re too many Taiwanese tourists in Tokyo!” a fan wrote.

The 32 year-old actress was first romantically linked to Po-Chieh last year when he was seen leaving her residences alone, after they worked together for crime thriller, White Lies, Black Lies.

Boyzlife to record new music

Boyzlife are to release their first single.

The duo - which is formed of Boyzone star Keith Duffy and ex-Westlife member Brian McFadden - got together last year for a tour in which they told stories about their time in the huge Irish groups and sang some of their biggest hits, and they are now going into the recording studio to work on new music together.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "They've been offered the chance to do this in the past but decided against it - they just wanted to focus on their live shows and enjoy their time on the road.

"But after the success of the last tour a new opportunity came up and they've decided to take it up, it's very exciting for them and they're looking forward to getting in the studio together."

And the pair are said to be hoping to include a guest female vocalist on a track written by Brian, 36, which they think would be the perfect debut single, though they haven't yet decided who to bring in.

The source added: "They've got a song that Brian co-wrote which they thought would be perfect.

"They're passionate about the track and are keen to get someone with an international profile on board to help give it a push overseas too."

Brian left Westlife in 20014, eight years before they eventually disbanded after enjoying huge chart success.

However, it was recently claimed he would be a part of a reunion with Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Markus Feehily and Nicky Byrne, but it seems those plans are now on hold because of his music with Keith, 42.

The source said: "This is very much their focus now so any talk of Brian reuniting with Westlife looks a long way off."

Naomie Harris wants to play Michelle Obama

Naomie Harris wants to play Michelle Obama in a movie.

The British actress thinks there would be no "greater honour" than to portray the "inspiring" former First Lady - who is married to ex-US president Barack Obama, who left office last week - in a biopic.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I couldn't think of anything being a greater honour or a more inspiring and wonderful story to be part of."

Earlier this week, the 40-year-old actress was shortlisted for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance as a heroin-addicted mother in 'Moonlight' and Naomie admits the nomination meant a "great deal" to her as she hopes the exposure for the film - which received seven other nods - will attract a greater audience.

She said: "It means a great deal to be recognised and acknowledged for your work.
"It is also particularly important with a film like 'Moonlight', as it is such a small-budget movie.

"There's something about this film that really moves people and changes the way people see the world and that's the kind of movie you want people to see, especially now."

Naomie previously admitted she couldn't bring herself to watch the Academy Award nominations live on TV because she was so nervous.

She said: "I was at home with my mum, and I started to watch the announcement, but I couldn't cope with the anticipation of it all. My brother called to say I had been nominated."

Asked how she celebrated her nomination, she added: "I was just having a lovely walk. It was very grounding."

And Naomie is amazed by how well the movie - which also stars Mahershala Ali, who too received a nod for his role in the film - has been received.

She added: "You really never know in this crazy business what's going to resonate with people. What I did know is that I read the script, and it made me cry three or four times. I knew it was such a beautiful film, and I knew from Barry [Jenkins'] previous film, 'Medicine for Melancholy,' that he was an extraordinary filmmaker.

"Whether or not people responded to it the way I did, you can never know that. Everyone who signed on for it did it because it was a passion project."

At a bookstore seminar, Chen Bolin mentioned that reading may restore energy, and that he always has two books in his bag when travelling.

When asked if he reads magazines as well, he replied, "Not that often," and explained that he believes that books have more to offer than gossip. He later added that the outside world is vast and worth exploring, trying to avoid further gossip-related inquiries.

Man linked to Lin Chiling rumoured to be a playboy

Lin Chiling was recently romantically linked to Taiwanese singer Yang Ren Pei (also known as Chris), with her agency swiftly denying the dating rumours, calling the pair newly acquainted friends.

While fans have been divided in their response to the dating news – some have congratulated Chiling on finding a match while others have shared their concern that she is linked with someone that is rumoured to be a playboy.

A source who claims to work at the Regent Taipei shared that Chris has no fixed residence in Taiwan and often lives in hotels instead. He is said to have built up a name for himself as a playboy and is constantly surrounded by a number of female friends.

The informant stated that he does not wish to see Chiling fooled by Chris and become a third party in his relationships with other women. He also claimed that Chris is close to the hotel’s boss and often requests for services during his stay there without paying for them. His haughty attitude has also earned him a negative reputation amongst the staff.

In response to the allegations, Chiling’s representatives only responded, “The source is really amazing (to know this much), people usually don’t ask questions like these about the other party when they first get to know one another.”

Tom Hanks and Amy Adams accidentally listed for Oscar

Tom Hanks and Amy Adams were accidentally among the nominees listed on the official Academy Awards website.

The 60-year-old actor and the 42-year-old actress were erroneously included in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories - for 'Sully' and 'Arrival' respectively - on the Oscars online outlet shortly after the nominations were announced on Tuesday (24.01.17).

ABC Digital has since recognised their error and apologised, as well as correcting their mistake.

Speaking in a statement about their blunder, they said: "This morning, in an attempt to release breaking news as announced, ABC Digital briefly posted inaccurate nomination information on the Oscar.com website."

However, they have also defended their actions and admitted although the website was incorrect their social media posts were all "accurate".

They explained: "The nominees announced by the Academy on Twitter were accurate. ABC quickly identified and corrected the errors. We apologise to the Academy, press and fans for any confusion."

However, the flame-haired beauty has admitted she wasn't aware of the error, which saw her false nomination replace Ruth Negga's nod for Best Actress in 'Loving', until after it had been corrected.

And that wasn't the only mistake to be made, as 'Lion's Facebook and Twitter accounts incorrectly praised Naomi Watts earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination for the drama film instead of 49-year-old Nicole Kidman, who plays Dev Patel's on-screen adoptive mother, Sue Brierley, in the movie.

The upload was a picture detailing the six nods they had received, and read: "BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: NAOMI WATTS."

However, the post has since been removed from all of their accounts and replaced with a corrected version.

The 89th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood and Highland Center on Sunday February 26.

And Celine admitted that René's battle with cancer was tough for the entire family.

Barbie Hsu shares snaps of her little Prince Charming

Barbie Hsu welcomed her second child, a son, last May after going through a difficult labour and has been fiercely protective of him after his birth.

After tying the knot with Wang Xiaofei in 2011, Barbie has been regularly updating her fans on her everyday life through her social media platforms, but has rarely posted updates on her children. Her update earlier this week, however, had fans pleasantly surprised when six photos of her son Wang Xilin were uploaded.

“The one and only time (I’ll upload photos of my son)! My Prince Charming! I won’t let you see him when he grows up!” she teased in her caption. The little one was said to look like Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu since Barbie first revealed photos of him, but the most recent photos had netizens commenting that he is starting to resemble his mother more.

In the photos, Xilin’s wide smile had many commenting that he looks like a very happy baby, while others dug up Barbie’s childhood photos and said that the mother and son pair look uncannily alike.

Barbie recently announced that she will be putting her career on hold in favour of parenting her children. Her firstborn, a girl, Wang Xiyue was born in 2014.

Della Ding urges Hong Kong boys to go out more

In the final part of her concert tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of her music career, Della Ding sang the song "Can’t Say Goodbye" in Cantonese and was joined by Alan Tam, who presented a bonus song "Friend". She then finished her entire tour with her classic "I’m a Little Bird".

When she was asked why she chose to end her tour in Hong Kong during an interview, she said she had seen many Hong Kong TV series and held many concerts here, and she felt like she was home in Hong Kong. She promised to sing more Cantonese songs in the future and wished her fans a happy Lunar New Year.

When asked about her impression of men in Hong Kong, she said she learned from Alan that Hong Kong boys were mostly homebodies. She urged them to go out more, use their mobile phones less and communicate more with people face-to-face.

Song Joongki would return to Taiwan just for the shaved ice

South Korean star Song Joongki showed up at a press conference for the Line Pay card he endorses.

Wearing a black suit, he greeted the media in Mandarin and repeated a Lunar New Year greeting taught by the host Mickey Huang, although his pronunciation made everybody laugh.

It was his fourth visit to Taiwan, and he had wanted to visit the night market but changed his mind for the safety of his fans. As a result, he missed the mango shaved ice he had wanted to eat, and he jokingly said that he might come again just for the mango shaved ice next time.

In the commercial he filmed, he said the word "Wow" many times, but his junior colleague Park Bogum had more lines in Mandarin, saying, "Let’s use it together." When Mickey teasingly asked if it was because he got less remuneration, Joongki denied it with a smile and repeated the phrase "Let’s use it together" in Mandarin.

When asked about his plans for the new year in 2017, an audience member shouted, "Get married!" Joongki said, smiling, "Thanks" but he just wished that his new movie would be successful.

Selena Gomez: Justin Bieber 'missed' his chance

Selena Gomez reportedly thinks Justin Bieber has "missed" his chance with her.

The 'Sorry' hitmaker - who previously dated the brunette beauty on and off from 2010 - was recently filmed hitting out at Selena's new beau The Weeknd, but the 24-year-old pop megastar is said to think Justin is jealous of "what he doesn't have", and has "missed the bus" when it comes to their relationship.

A source said: "Selena is well aware that Justin wants what he doesn't have, but as far as she is concerned, he's missed the bus one too many times."

On Saturday (21.01.17), the 22-year-old singer was filmed slamming The Weeknd's music, as he said he "can't listen" to any of his songs.

Asked at the time if he liked the 'Starboy' hitmaker's music, Justin said: "Hell no I can't listen to a Weeknd song! That s**t's wack."

However, Selena reportedly thinks Justin is just saying that because he's jealous of their budding romance.

The source added to HollywoodLife.com: "She knows Justin doesn't really think The Weeknd's music is whack."

It isn't the first time Justin has reportedly slammed his ex-lover's new relationship either, as it was previously reported he believes the 'Hands To Myself' hitmaker is just using The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - to boost record sales.

According to reports, Justin thinks the supposed relationship is a strategic move on the part of the Selena - who has previously dated Nick Jonas, Zedd and himself in the weeks before releasing new material - as she is currently working on new material with the 26-year-old musician.

And it isn't just the 'What Do You Mean?' musician who is upset about Selena's relationship with 'The Hills' singer, as the news of their romance caused Abel's ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid to unfollow the brunette beauty on Instagram.

Lady Gaga 'to release a new album in 2017'

Lady Gaga is reportedly set to release a new album in October 2017.

The 30-year-old singer-songwriter released 'Joanne' in October 2016, but after she recently returned to the recording studio, Gaga is already making good progress on a new full-length record.

The album is slated for release in October, according to Forbes magazine, which has also claimed that Gaga won't receive a fee for her much-anticipated appearance at the Super Bowl half-time show in Houston, Texas.

Earlier this month, Gaga revealed she has built a tent in her garden to practice for her Super Bowl appearance.

The iconic musician announced the news of her personal training area on her Instagram account, posting a picture of her surrounded by a group of people whilst she kicks her leg in the air.

"Trying to figure out insurance for it is crazy."

Kai Ko speaks up for Jaycee Chan

Taiwanese actor Kai Ko made an appearance at an event on Friday (Jan 20) and jumped to good friend Jaycee Chan’s defence when he was probed about the latter’s dating rumours with 16 year-old cellist, Nana Ouyang. “I don’t think that’s possible,” he responded, explaining that he has always seen Nana in the company of her family and that the interactions between Jaycee and the cellist do not give off romantic vibes.

Following his successful comeback to the silver screen and entertainment industry with movie The Road to Mandalay after his marijuana scandal in 2014 with Jaycee, Kai expressed his wish to stay busy with work engagements this year.

The actor attended a fan meet on Saturday (Jan 21) and wrote the Chinese character for work to symbolise his wish for the Chinese New Year. He let on that he has received movie and drama offers after he was nominated for the Best Actor award at the Golden Horse award last year, but chose to turn the jobs down as he felt that the roles did not suit him.

While he attended the event with fellow actor Puff Kuo, Kai seemed to have chosen to steer clear of her as the actress is said to have bad blood with the actor’s girlfriend, Tia Li.

Richie still felt his injuries from an earlier accident at a motorcycle rally, but he was more concerned about Andy’s injury. He wished Andy a speedy recovery and hoped the public would give Andy some time and space to rest well. When asked if his family still allowed him to race again, Richie said smilingly, "I know my own condition and I already told them it was my last race because I am getting old. Ewan McGregor reveals his T2 Trainspotting fear

Ewan McGregor feared the sequel to 'Trainspotting' would tarnish the original movie.

The 45-year-old star has reprised the role of Mark Renton for the new Danny Boyle-directed movie and although he was initially reluctant to appear in the follow-up, Ewan is now convinced he made the correct decision.

Speaking at the premiere of 'T2 Trainspotting' in Edinburgh, Scotland, he explained: "I don't think any of us were in any doubt once we read the script.

"Before we read it, it was something that was on my mind - you don't want to make a bad sequel to 'Trainspotting' that would damage its reputation in any way."

Danny, meanwhile, said the sequel once again shines a light on the disaffected youth in Scotland, revealing the entertaining storyline even affords him the luxury of sneaking in his "own agenda and nobody minds".

The acclaimed director told Sky News: "Scotland and its independence and its bipolar relationship with the UK and England is something I've benefited from in my career, and you have to behave in a respectful way, they don't take nonsense here."

Danny's thoughts were echoed by Irvine Welsh, who wrote the books on which the films are based.

The novelist said 'T2 Trainspotting' reflects Scotland's changing identity.

He said: "Scotland has become a much more outward-looking and Europe-orientated place - that's why there's so much anxiety about Brexit, being taken out of that.

"The film wanted to reflect that growing multi-culturalism as well."

'T2 Trainspotting' is partly based on the novel 'Porno' and also features the likes of Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, and Robert Carlyle.

The movie is set 20 years after the original and sees Mark return to Scotland to make amends with his friends Daniel 'Spud' Murphy and Simon 'Sick Boy' Williamson.

Tom Hardy lost £2m on BBC drama Taboo

Tom Hardy lost £2 million making his new BBC1 drama 'Taboo'.

The 39-year-old hunk created Taboo Productions Ltd to handle the finances for the eight-part series, which he wrote, produced and starred in - but his first solo venture has transpired to be a financial flop.

A source said: "These new figures will make stark reading for Tom.

"No matter who you are or how much money you're worth, £2 million is a lot of money to simply throw away.

"This is the first major TV drama Tom has overseen himself. He has written it, produced it and starred in it, so he was always going to come up against some difficulties."

Accounts show that Tom spent as much as £10.4 million on 'Taboo', while its income reached £8.4 million, meaning Tom took a sizeable financial hit on making the show.
However, the Hollywood star still hopes to recoup more money through DVD and digital sales, while he can also sell the rights abroad.

The source told The Sun newspaper: "Tom will hope to eventually make the money back through DVD sales, downloads, streaming and syndication rights.

"As well as being aired in the UK and in the US, 'Taboo' has already been sold around the world in the likes of Spain, Portugal and Russia."

Tom came up with the idea for 'Taboo' along with his dad Edward 'Chips' Hardy, and Sir Ridley Scott agreed to direct the project after the BBC purchased the rights.

Although the show has proven to be a financial flop thus far, plans are already in place to make a second series.

The drama has attracted relatively modest viewing figures, but is actually among the most-watched shows on the BBC iPlayer, the broadcaster's catch-up service.

Ciara agrees joint custody of son

Ciara and her ex-fiancé Future have agreed joint custody of their son.

The 'I Bet' hitmaker - who was left heartbroken in 2015 when she called off her one-year engagement with the rapper just weeks after the birth of their child - has been locked in a bitter legal battle with the hunk for almost two years but has now decided to bury the hatchet by accepting equal ownership of two-year-old Future Jr., according to TMZ.

Despite the former couple's decision, the 31-year-old singer will spend the majority of the time with the youngster due to the 'I Won' hitmaker's busy tour schedule.

The singer decided to put an end to the on-going court battle because she wants to get on with her life now that she's expecting a baby with her husband Russell Wilson.
The case conclusion comes weeks after the brunette beauty decided to drop her $15 million defamation lawsuit against Future after he went on a number of foul-mouthed rants about her online and took a swipe at her and her new spouse in interviews.

Future - whose real name is Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn - previously lashed out at his former flame on social media by claiming she had denied him access to their son.

He wrote: "This bitch got control problems... I gotta go through lawyers to see babyfuture...the f**kery for 15k a month. (sic)."

However, Ciara was said to believe Future - who has four children with four different women - took aim at her in order to get publicity and was just annoyed that she has moved on with Russell, who she married last year in a romantic ceremony in the UK.

Now that her legal woes are behind her, Ciara can now focus on her relationship with the 28-year-old soccer player and look forward to their new addition later this year.

Xiaoming’s work studio updated their Weibo with a statement to share the good news, which also stated that Angelababy gave birth in Hong Kong, and that Xiaoming and their respective families were by her side.

While reports have claimed that Angelababy gave birth to a son, the couple has yet to officially confirm nor deny the speculation on their baby’s gender.

Yesterday, Xiaoming attended the Lunar New Year celebration organised by Hong Kong’s Harbour City – an event that was attended by Angelababy since 2009 but she was forced to give a miss due to her impending delivery date.

At the event, Xiaoming shared that the happiest thing for him was becoming a father, and that he often wakes up with a smile while thinking of his then-unborn child.

The couple tied the knot in October 2015 and confirmed on their first wedding anniversary that they are expecting their first child together.

Ken Chu’s wedding vows revealed

Ken Chu tied the knot with Chinese actress Vivian Han last September in Bali following the couple registering their marriage in June the same year.

Ken turned 38 on January 15 and Vivian uploaded a snap of the two of them with the caption, “The third birthday that I’ve spent with you.” At the same time, a short movie titled Wo De Yi Qie Dou Shi Ni De (loosely translated to All of Me Belongs to You) was shared online. The video compiled a number of moments from their wedding ceremony, including when the couple exchanged vows.

When the couple was exchanging rings, Ken declared, “I had you by my side when I was the most helpless. Thank you for letting me be your husband. All that I have belongs to you – both my physical self and my wealth.”

After watching the video, Vivian couldn’t resist but to poke fun at her husband, “You’re not allowed to change for a hundred years. Mr. Chu, don’t forget to watch this video and remind yourself of what you said regularly.”

In response, Ken said, “As a man, I cried more than you (in the video) – do you think I’d have the cheek to change (my mind)?”

Netizens also praised Ken for his massive weight loss for his wedding – the F4 member lost a total of 18 kilograms for his big day, revealing that his reason was that he was “afraid that he would make (Vivian) look bad”.

Ciara's powerful relationship

Ciara felt "very powerful" after deciding to abstain from sex until she married Russell Wilson.

The 'Dance Like We're Making Love' hitmaker and the American football quarterback chose to wait until they tied the knot before getting intimate and Ciara believes it has made their relationship much stronger.

She said: "I really believe that when you focus on a friendship, you have the opportunity to build a strong foundation for a relationship - and once you know you're really great friends and you're what we call 'equally yoked,' where you share the same values or the same outlook on life, it kind of sets the tone. Knowing that you'll always have the friendship and that you can always go back to it is very important, and very powerful ... I have to give credit to my husband for sharing those views. It's awesome how it all worked out."

And the 31-year-old singer - who has son Future, two, with an ex-partner and is expecting her first child with Russell - also feels it is important to have "standards" in a relationship.

She added: "Here's how it works. We women think with our hearts and with our minds. When we see a guy, we envision what he's like and whether this could be something special. Guys see us from an exterior point of view - that's something I learnt along the way as a woman ...

"It's important to have a friendship. It's important to have standards. You shouldn't feel like you have to give your body away to get someone to like you."

Ciara hopes she is a good role model to her fans and is happy to open up about the things she is going through so she can help others dealing with similar issues.

She told the February issue of South Africa's Cosmopolitan magazine: "I think that people can learn from your experiences when they happen in front of the world.

"You never know what someone else is going through, and you never know how sharing your situation might help them with theirs."

Jack Nicholson to retire after 60 years

Jack Nicholson is to retire after 60 years onscreen.

The legendary actor - who is arguably most famous for his role in 'The Shining' - is "basically retired", according to his 'Easy Rider' co-star Peter Fonda.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper at a Bafta Tea Party event in Los Angeles, he said: "I think he is basically retired. I don't want to speak for him but he has done a lot of work and he has done very well as a person financially.

"Sometimes people have a reason that you don't know, and it's not for me to ask. I don't call him up and say, 'Johnny,' I call him Johnny Hop, 'What are you doing?' I would say, 'How are you, how do you feel?'"

Throughout his illustrious career, the 79-year-old actor was nominated for 12 Academy Awards, winning three. He also won seven Golden Globes including the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1999 for his outstanding contribution to film.

Meanwhile, Jack previously admitted he feels ageing has helped him make "improvements in his character".

He said: "If men are honest, everything they do and everywhere they go is for a chance to see women. There were points in my life where I felt oddly irresistible to women. I'm not in that state now and that makes me sad.

"But I also believe that a lot of the improvements in my character have come through ageing and the diminishing of powers. It's all a balancing act; you just have to get used to the ride."

And Jack hates how his job thrusts him into the spotlight as he doesn't want to be treated like the "Lincoln Memorial".

Speaking in 2011, he added: "I hate it. I don't want to be treated like the Medusa or the Lincoln Memorial. People have an idea of me which is not the reality. On set I'm an actor like every other actor.

"Most times, for every part I play, I can think of other actors who would be better. I worry from the moment I take a job. I worry about how I'm going to do it, if I can do it. I try to work out what I have to do on set and how I do that."

The 'Firework' hitmaker delighted her boyfriend - who reached the milestone age on Friday (13.01.17) - with a star-studded bash in Palm Spring, California, on Saturday (14.01.17), at which they were joined by a host of pals, including Amanda De Cadenet, Jennifer Aniston and her husband Justin Theroux.

Katy isn't shy of making big gestures as gifts as back in 2010 she bought her ex-husband Russell Brand a trip to space when he turned 35.

Star Wars co-star hails Carrie Fisher as an 'original screen icon'

Carrie Fisher was an "original screen icon", according to Laura Dern.

The 49-year-old actress appears alongside Carrie in the eagerly-awaited 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' and has hailed the Hollywood star after she passed away aged 60 in late December.

Of her on-screen co-star, Laura said: "We put a lot of focus currently on what it is to be a female icon, what it is to use your voice, what it is to be comfortable in your own skin.

"She has always been one of the most extraordinary beacons, an original screen icon."

Laura - whose role in the new movie has not been revealed - admitted Carrie and her 'Star Wars' character Princess Leia were icons for her as a child.

She told ET Online: "I don't know any of us who didn't play Princess Leia for a Halloween, or in our life.

"What an incredible gift to to witness that whole legacy."

This comes shortly after Lucasfilm denied suggestions it is seeking the rights to use Carrie's digital image in future 'Star Wars' movies.

Carrie finished shooting 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' prior to her passing, but it had been rumoured her image could still appear in the franchise.

However, a statement posted on StarWars.com read: "We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher's performance as Princess or General Leia Organa.

"Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars."

Jason Momoa: Aquaman is the best moment of my career

Jason Momoa says 'Aquaman' is "the best moment" of his career as it's opened up so many other roles for him.

The 37-year-old actor is set to take on the DC Comics superhero in the upcoming ensemble movie 'Justice League' before working on his first standalone feature for the franchise, and has said accepting the job was life-changing for him as he's finally able to "pick and choose" the roles he wants.

He said: "I haven't been an actor who's been able to pick and choose roles, and being a family man, it's been about putting food on the table ... This has been the best moment of my career because the superhero roles are letting me get the other roles I want."

And whilst Jason says working on the ensemble movie - which will see Aquaman join forces with Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), the Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) as they battle it out against the evil Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) - was "amazing", he admits he's "stoked" to be preparing for work on his solo venture.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "Stoked. Yeah, I'm having a solo movie. With my standalone 'Aquaman' movie, I'm really pumped about that. I start in four or five months, so I get a little bit of a rest and then I'm right back into it.

"'Justice League' was amazing, but it's going to be fun to have the arc and talk about this guy's backstory and where he's going."

Meanwhile, scriptwriter Will Beall recently revealed the sea-swelling superhero movie will "blow people's minds".

He said: "It's going to be fun, it's going to be really fun. What we've come up with and James (Wan, the director) especially - he has a really clear idea of the tone he's going to have, and I think 'Aquaman' is one that's going to blow people's minds, not just visually, but I think the story and the scope of it is really great."

Khloé Kardashian: Weight loss shows I'm 'mentally strong'

Khloé Kardashian believes losing weight proves how "mentally strong" she is.

The 32-year-old television personality launched her new reality show 'Revenge Body with Khloé Kardashian' - which sees the blonde beauty mentor men and women who have faced hardships as they reinvent themselves both inside and out - on Thursday night (12.01.17), and has said her own transformation comes as revenge for everyone who called her "fat and ugly".

She said: "For me, my revenge is for everybody who called me fat and ugly ... every piece of (crap) that comes our way in my family, and how we handle them. It shows how strong I am mentally.

"I finally have learned to process things in a healthy way, and for me, that's my 'revenge body.'"

And the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star says her new way of dealing with stress is much healthier, as she was a "mess" when her father Robert Kardashian passed away in 2003.
