Godfrey Gao Promotes New Play with Cardboard Leading Actress Godfrey Gao showed up at the press conference to promote his new drama, Meet Wang Lichuan.
As the leading actress Jiao Junyan could not make it to the press conference, Godfrey posed with a cardboard cut-out of her during the photocall, making the reporters burst out in laughter with his antics. As his character dates a college student in the drama, Godfrey was asked if he had dated students before.
However, the actor clammed up and said, "I won’t talk about it." But, he did reveal that he was confident in his kissing skills, saying, "I have experience [in kissing]." Before a kissing scene, he’d make sure to discuss it with the actress before the scene, because he thought the kiss would be more romantic if they do not feel awkward.
He also revealed that his bottom line for a kissing scene was "no tongues" unless the director demanded it. Nicknamed the "people’s husband" because of this drama, Godfrey shared that he gets "harassed" by fans at the airport.
He said, "The fans are always passionate, because it is hard for them to see an actor in person. Sometimes they'll hold my hand and wouldn't let go."
Finally, he revealed that though he might look cool, he will act cute when dating to please his girlfriend.
