Tao continues to keep fans in suspense on his status in EXO despite fresh speculation that the idol is calling it quits with the group.
Chinese media reported that he had left Beijing airport on a plane bound for the US and fans later spotted the 22-year-old at Los Angeles International Airport with his mother, where both mother and son appeared to be in good spirits.
Reports have claimed that he has headed to Los Angeles in order to seek treatment for his injuries, in particular for his leg. They further added that he will be pursuing his studies in the US, but did not provide any indication on his status in EXO.
He previously caused panic among fans when he removed the word EXO from all his social media platforms, in particular his Instagram. His Instagram name, which was formerly EXO-TAO, has been updated to Z.TAO.
While some have accepted that he will be leaving the group, others have criticised him for his continued silence on his decision and status despite appearing at his birthday event in China, where he shed tears and asked for fans to “give me some time (and) I will come back and stand before all of you once again”.
