May is set to be a month packed with S.M. Entertainment’s girl power with two of their artistes, BoA and Girls’ Generation, confirming their respective comebacks.
BoA was previously confirmed to release a 15th anniversary album after she uploaded a photo of her in the recording studio but only confirmed today (Apr 30) that her comeback date is set for May 12. Her eighth full length album comes almost three years after Only One, and is said to include tracks that were purely penned by the artiste herself.
While the album title has yet to be revealed, an S.M. rep shared that a variety of genres, including indie pop, R&B and funk will be explored in her latest work.
Meanwhile, label mates Girls’ Generation have also confirmed their comeback in May, with this being the first Korean release since Jessica departed from the group last September. The octet released their Japanese single, Catch Me If You Can, earlier this month.
Their last studio album, I Got a Boy, was released in January 2013 and with the upcoming release slated to be a studio album, fans are expecting a full cycle of promotions for the group.
Girls’ Generation’s last physical Korean release was their mini album Mr.Mr. in February 2014.
