Taiwanese pop singing wonder Jay Chou may have displayed his friendliness by posing for a photo with a tourist on his vacation in Thailand, but netizens did not seem to like it so much as they could barely recognize him.
Last week, the 36-year-old caused a furore online after he was seen on a honeymoon trip with his 22-year-old wife Hannah Quinlivan in Thailand, the latest instalment to his series of wedding ceremonies and honeymoon trips since January this year.
On Tuesday (Mar 31), the loving couple visited street markets in Thailand and Jay was approached by a fan for a photo and readily accepted the fan’s request.
Though it was hot and humid, Jay was clad in black and had a knit beanie over his head. He also spotted an unshaven look, which netizens found to be a stark contrast from his usual clean and well-groomed look.
Some netizens also jested, “Seems like his wife is not doing a good job in taking care of him, ha ha.”
Others, on the other hand, criticised Jay for his sloppy look and his baggy pants, commenting angrily, “Even if you don’t wish to shave, please wear your pants properly.”
