Ryan Gosling has a "city crush" on Detroit.
The 'Drive' star - who has six-month-old daughter Esmeralda with partner Eva Mendes - has admitted he can't get enough of the "cool" Michigan city.
He said: "It seemed like everything cool came from Detroit, you know? Eminem and the Model T and the Motor City ... this whole idea of the American dream.
"The amazing thing about Detroit is it's also going through this rebirth and reinvention and there's incredible energy there and great talent."
The city is the location of Ryan's latest film 'Lost River' and the Hollywood hunk revealed he hired a "special team" for the movie, which included his partner Eva, Christina Hendricks and Matt Smith.
He told People magazine: "I felt like George Clooney in 'Ocean's Eleven' when I got to pick my special team.
"I hired everyone because I admired them and I trust them. So for me it wasn't directing them as much as it was letting them film the characters and tell me what [the characters] would and wouldn't do.
"I was there if they wanted to talk about something, but more I felt my job was to sort of create an environment and space for them to sort of do their thing."
