The 'Veronica Mars' actress, who has daughters Lincoln, two, and Delta, three months, with the 'Parenthood' actor, says they visit a relationship expert on a regular basis, as they are determined to make their marriage last forever.
She explained: "I don't mind advertising a healthy marriage. I'm trying, just like everyone else.
"You do better in the gym with a trainer; you don't figure out how to cook without reading a recipe. Therapy is not something to be embarrassed about."
The 34-year-old star adores her family, but she wasn't always certain she wanted children.
She told the May issue of Good Housekeeping magazine: "Before we had the girls, I asked a few people in my life who are annoyingly blunt and honest on every level if we should, knowing that if it wasn't worth it, they'd have the balls to say, 'Listen, don't. Live your life.' But across the board, everyone said it was un-missable.
"Having kids feels like that first seventh-grade crush that overwhelms every molecule in your body, but it's permanent."
