It has been reported that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo have both been confirmed for upcoming KBS 2TV drama 'Descendants of the Sun,' and they will be joined by Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won who signed on as second leads.Song Hye Kyo had been offered a role in the drama early last month, and she had been in discussions with her agency staff from UAA since, before ultimately deciding recently to take on the drama.Song Joong Ki's agency meanwhile expressed, "Song Joong Ki is currently serving in the 22nd Infantry Division search battalion, and will be discharged on May 26th. He will be focusing all his attention on his army duties before his discharge. As for his comeback project, he will definitely ensure that he has prepared sufficiently for it before diving into filming. Please look forward to it."'Descendants of the Sun' tells of a romance story between Yoo Si Jin, the head of the elite special forces, and army doctor Kang Mo Yeon. Jin Goo meanwhile plays Seo Dae Young, who is also part of the elite special forces, while Kim Ji Won will play medical doctor, Yoon Myung Joo.The drama's script will be penned by star writer Kim Eun Sook, who had previously written for hit drama series like 'Secret Garden,' 'The Heirs,' and 'A Gentleman's Dignity.' Although there's no broadcast date as yet, 'Descendants of the Sun' is expected to greet viewers in the latter half of 2015
