Jennifer Lawrence has blasted Hollywood for focusing on physical appearance.
The 'Hunger Games' star insists people should not be focused on the weight or size of an actor or actress but rather on their talent.
She said: "I hate all the focus on weight and size that you have in our business. I don't think an actress needs to be skinny to be attractive and it sends the wrong message to young women.
"It's important that, as actresses, we need to establish ourselves first and foremost for our talent and not for our physical appearance."
The 25-year-old actress also opened up about her criticisms of the gender pay gap in the movie industry, insisting that feels very "lucky" to have a job she loves and only made her comments out of "principle".
She told Grazia magazine: "I'm aware that movie stars earn too much money in relation to the rest of the world. But it's the principle that is important.
"I can't stand a lack of fairness. This has nothing to do with ingratitude - I love my job and I know how lucky I am to be able to live off my art."
