The Noose to move from television to stage

The Noose, the long-running satirical news-based comedy show that has spawned eight seasons, will return next March - not on television, but on stage at the newly opened The Theatre @ Mediacorp - for three days of laughs that will leave you in stitches.

Four of its cast members - Chua Enlai, Judee Tan, Alaric Tay and Suhaimi Yusof - will be joined by their kakis (buddies), comprising comedians Kumar, Harith Iskander, Fakkah Fuzz, Rizal Van Geyzal and Kavin Jay, the latter four hailing from across the Causeway.

The Noose quartet gave a preview of their comedic abilities at the very same venue on Tuesday night at the official opening of Mediacorp’s new campus, lampooning the national free-to-air broadcaster’s move to the Buona Vista neighbourhood with their wicked sense of humour.

And with a clutch of regional awards including Best Comedy at the Asian Television Awards and an International Emmy Awards nomination, The Noose can be counted on to deliver the goods.

So expect a show brimming with witty jibes and inside jokes on Singaporean and Malaysian current affairs, as well as the regional neighbour so generous with supplying quality fresh air for 11 months each year.

This production is presented by MediaCorp VizPro International and Channel 5. Tickets are on sale now.
