Leehom Wang clinches second place on Billboard World Albums Charts

Taiwanese-American multi-hyphenate Leehom Wang’s new album peaked at second place on America’s Billboard World Albums charts last week.

The 39-year-old had gone on a hiatus in his music career to focus on acting and in late 2013, he and his wife Lee Jinglei officially tied the knot. After keeping his fans waiting for four years, the talented singer released his new album Your Love on Jan 23.

Leehom came in second on the charts last week, after Korean rock band CNBlue’s lead singer Jung Yonghwa, who recently released his first solo album, while Jay Chou was at the seventh position.

In his interview on a radio show yesterday, Leehom proudly shared the good news and thanked international Chinese pop music listeners for showing their support. He also said that he is happy with that his album is well-received and aims to reach the top of the charts in future.

As Leehom would be holding his album showcase on Feb 14 (Valentine’s Day), reporters cheekily asked him, “Would ‘Your Love’ be at the event to support you?”

Leehom hastily replied, “My love would definitely be there and I would definitely sing my title song ‘Your Love’ at the event too.”

When asked about his Valentine’s gift for Jinglei, Leehom chose to keep it a secret.

However, he stated that his wife is not a materialistic woman. Even if it was a stalk of rose or a handmade card, Leehom said that Jinglei will be contented with any gift.
