Chinese singer and model Lu Yao has finally emerged from the shadows of heartbreak and announced her return to work.
“Our paths have diverged, and we should move on as happily as we dated,” she said on Tuesday at Beijing Capital International Airport, after being asked about her unfruitful four-year relationship with Chinese singer Li Ronghao. He started dating Taiwanese singer–actress Rainie Yang not long after parting from Lu Yao.
However, “I’m in no place to wish them well, nor do I have that ability,” she added. “I shall focus on doing what I must do.”
Lu Yao’s recent attendance at Paris Fashion Week is her first public appearance since breaking up with Ronghao in January.
According to Taiwan media, Lu Yao, 28, went off the grid after the bitter breakup and sought spiritual guidance from Tibetan Buddhist monk Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche to overcome her grief.
During her trip to Paris, Lu Yao reportedly auditioned for an arthouse film, and is working on publishing a book on healthy ways to handle relationships.
