Colin Farrell thinks online dating is "narcissistic".
The 39-year-old actor stars alongside Rachel Weisz in the new sci-fi movie 'The Lobster', in which finding love is a matter of life and death, and the Hollywood star has admitted to feeling bemused by the growing obsession with online dating.
Colin said: "The idea of choosing someone based on them being the exact same as you ... is a rather narcissistic approach to things. And yet that's what a lot of the internet dating is, 'These are my interests. Do you share the same interests? Well, let's go and share our interests together.'
"But if you meet someone who has different interests, they can open your eyes to something different and something you've not experienced before."
The heartthrob said he's never gone on an online date and suspects people would be inclined to judge him based on his fame.
He told the Guardian newspaper: "I haven't had a date and I don't know about that whole thing. But for sure, anyone I meet will have an idea... not anyone, but some people have an idea who I am and what I'm about, so it's harder to have a blank canvas at the start of things.
"But that's okay, you know, it's good to learn to disappoint expectations."
