At the premiere of "The Great Wall", Andy Lau appeared with director Zhang Yimou and were greeted by cheering fans.
Andy
said it was hard to speak in classic English and Matt Damon would
correct him sometimes. Talking about their achievement of grossing 500
million yuan at the box office in five days when shown in the mainland,
Andy said smilingly, "Of course I am satisfied. The director's standards
are too high."
Yimou admitted that it was a "popcorn movie"
and he hoped all the young people in the world could see it. Andy said
he felt relaxed when working together with Yimou again after 12 years.
Yimou praised Andy for his politeness because Andy would visit him in
Beijing every time.
When asked if he’d star in a Hollywood
movie again, Andy said it would depend on chance. When asked about his
Christmas plans, Andy said he would stay with his family and he had
already bought a present for his daughter.
