Dee Hsu embroiled in tuition centre police case

Taiwanese host Dee Hsu was recently summoned to the police for the second time to assist in investigations related to a tuition centre her daughter attended previously.

Four years ago, the 38-year-old’s daughter had stopped going for lessons at a particular tuition centre. The centre then engaged Ms Lin to liaise with Dee, in the hopes of getting the host to enrol her daughter for classes again.

However, Ms Lin took matters into her own hands, and began promoting her private tuition classes to the customers of the tuition centre, causing the centre to suffer losses.

However, Ms Lin denied the allegations of the tuition centre, and asserted that she had not contacted Dee of her own accord, nor did she try to poach the customers of the tuition centre.

As a result of the contradictory claims, the authorities summoned Dee and the other customers of the tuition centre in order to investigate the claims. During the investigations, Dee shared that all matters relating to tuition for her daughters were handled by her mother-in-law.

The host said that she only recalled that the female teacher had accompanied the children as they did their work. However, she realised that the teacher would give the kids presents to curry favour from them, thus, she pulled her daughter out from the classes as she felt that it was inappropriate.

Dee’s mother-in-law also said that she had not asked for private tuition after Dee’s daughter quit from the tuition centre. She stated that it was the female teacher who had stepped up to say that she was a fan of Dee, and that she can help to take care of the children.

But, she did not teach them at all and only played with them. In other non-related news, Dee, who turned up at the airport in her pyjamas with a bunch of friends to take pictures yesterday, received mixed reactions from netizens for her antics, with some laughing at her outrageous poses, while some criticised her for damaging the country’s reputation. Dee has three daughters, Elly, 11, Lily, 9 and Alice, 5, with businessman Mike Hsu.
