Sandy Lam rejects proposal from boyfriend

Taiwanese singer Sandy Lam has been in a stable relationship with her boyfriend, singer Jun Kung, who’s 12 years younger than her, for five years.

The couple first revealed their relationship in 2011, with Jun Kung supporting her as her drummer during her concert tours. When Sandy’s contract with her record label ended, she also signed on to Jun Kung’s music label as an artist.

Since they got together, there have been rumours about their plans to get married. Sandy’s recent participation in the singing reality show, Singer 2017, also sparked rumours that she will be sharing news about her plans to tie the knot upon her win. Jun Kung was reported to have proposed to the 51-year-old successfully, after many failed attempts, further fueling speculations.

However, latest reports about their relationship alleged that he was rejected as Sandy was afraid that the marriage will affect her 18-year-old daughter, Renee Lee.

When asked to comment on the matter, Sandy’s manager declined to comment on the duo’s relationship and gave a one-word reply when asked about the proposal: “No.” In his previous interviews, Jun Kang shared that they have no plans to get married at all. Sandy was previously married to record producer Jonathan Lee, with whom she had her daughter, Renee.
