The list of celeb babies due to hatch in 2017 is growing ever-longer, with George Young and Janet Hsieh announcing on April 1 that they are expecting their first child.
The pair tied the knot in Antarctica in 2015, slightly over a year after going public with their relationship. Janet updated her social media platforms with a photo of herself holding a sign that read, “One of us is pregnant”, and was flanked by George and American child actor Hudson Yang.
Given that her announcement was made on April 1, her manager clarified that it was not an April Fools’ joke.
A day later, she uploaded another photo of herself with the cast of High 5 Basketball, with the caption “This basketball team is about to add a new player!” once again allaying netizens’ doubts that she was playing a joke on them with her previous post.
According to sources close to the couple, Janet will be entering her second trimester soon, but is unwilling to reveal the gender of her child.
Janet has also reportedly decided to not let her pregnancy affect her work, and signed three new endorsement deals worth a total of NT$9 million (S$414,000) after getting pregnant.
In November last year, Janet uploaded a nine-minute long video on her past battle with depression, spreading positivity through her vlog while admitting that she too feels lonely at times.
