"Cape No. 7" will be played again, but this time it will be on the stage
as a musical directed by Amon Miyamoto and Tesheng Wei in Kaohsiung
Spring Arts Festival in 2017. At the press conference today, most of the
original movie cast members were also seen, including Van Fan, Chie
Tanaka, Nienhsien Ma and Weimin Ying, with Chiachia Peng playing the
character "Old Mao" to replace the late actor C. Lin. It would be the
first time for Chie to appear in a musical, but she feared that her
voice might ruin it and sometimes she’d collapsed by the pressure when
practicing the songs. Thanks to director Miyamoto who told her that
"practice makes perfect", she was relieved of some pressure.
